"Location was great. The kitchen was the best equipped in any rental we have ever been to! Loved the house and had a great week."

"We loved: proximity to the beach, the beach-side cabana, the spaciousness, the gates that kept our puppy from leaving the deck, outdoor shower and general layout of the house."

"The gazebo on the dune is our favorite feature of the house!"

"Beautiful home with amazing views! Short private walkway to the beach with a covered gazebo! Gates on all decks for kids/pets to stay contained. Master bedroom and bathroom on main level is insane. New hot tub this year! Second year staying here and we love love love this house!"

"The location on the beach is outstanding, beautiful view, easy access to the beach (30-second walk), a wooden walkway to the Gazebo, and a great friendly neighborhood. Huge Master bedroom and bath on the main floor. We had 6 adults and 3 younger ones staying, no problem with having plenty of space. The house is starting to show its age, the outside should be touched up with new paint, newer outdoor cushions for a large outdoor sofa on the front porch, but your dog is welcomed on vacation too. We liked the extra full-size refrigerator in the garage for beverage storage. One thing I'd recommend would be "renting bikes and beach chairs" from one of the local rental companies. They will deliver and pick up your order, consider reserving (2 weeks ahead of time). They rent out quickly! This was our 2nd year in a row renting The Gardner House. We may go for a 3rd, not yet committed. Corolla is a very nice area on the OBX, can't wait for the completion of the new Corolla Bridge, I heard it's approved and soon will start construction."

"This house was perfect for our family! We loved the gazebo, and the fact that the decks are all gated. Helped a lot with little kids and the dog! There isn’t a crock pot, so I’ll have to remember to bring mine next year. Master bathrooms are pretty amazing. However the upstairs bathroom wasn’t great. Definitely needs an upgraded tub! Awesome kitchen! The views of the ocean were spectacular! Pool was great. I loved how we could see the beach from the pool deck. Hot tub was on the smaller side. The laundry was in a weird spot, but I try not to do too much while on vacation anyways. Wish the deck was bigger with more furniture, but we made it work! Can’t wait to come back!"

"We have been here twice and love the location, house, pool and the gazebo leading to the beach....we had a great week. Looking forward to next year!"

"What a wonderful visit during Covid 19 summer, even the hurricane went inland, so it never ruined our vacation. Our family of 9 (6 adults, 2 teens, and an 18 month child) found The Gardner House very comfortable, plenty of space for all of us and great location. The private walkway to the beach with a gazebo worked out perfect (30 second walk). Having a private pool was refreshing. We liked the idea of the water spray areas to wash the sand off our feet so very little got in the house. The two deck areas, one in front (perfect shady morning/ sunset view) and back ( ocean/sunrise views) were great coffee areas. The "wild horses" even came down to visit the front area of our home when we were packing to leave (7 total). Not sure how the horses got out, but they were escorted back up the beach to the 4x4 area. Corolla Light is a nice and well kept area. Food Lion is only 4 mile away, plus restaurants, pizza places, ice cream businesses, and even a Beer Garden are minutes away. The traffic was minimal, maybe because of the Fri - Fri rental days. Yes, the drive up to Corolla takes about a 1/2 hour longer than kill devil or Southern Shores, but that's not bad because of light traffic on Friday. We have reserved next year already, by the way, hope covid is not a problem."
