This ocean-to-sound community is ideally located at one of the narrowest stretches of the Northern Outer Banks, resulting in less crowded beaches. You will find Sanderling vacation homes nestled amongst the indigenous pines, bayberry, wax myrtle and live oaks. Sanderling offers a soundfront outdoor swimming pool, which is available to select homes in the community. Please see individual home details for more information. Tennis courts are also available for a nominal fee. Wildlife enthusiasts will certainly enjoy the nature trails at the nearby Audubon Society Nature Preserve, which showcase the community’s gorgeous green landscape. Also, take advantage of direct access to Sanderling’s private soundside dock.

Pool Hours for swimming (weather permitting) are 9am - 6pm. Tennis Courts, north pier, and boat ramp are open from 9am - 6pm. Beach access on boardwalks open from 5am-11pm.

Access to the Currituck Sound is available at the pier and boat ramp located at the Sanderling Racquet and Swim Club.

The tennis courts are located south of the main pool. Access is through the pool area.

Check-In Instructions

Amenities available prior to check-in. Upon arrival, proceed to the Sanderling Racquet & Swim Club to pick up your community pool pass located at 1578 Duck Road, north of Sanderling Resort Spa.

For homes North of Blue Heron, from May 1st to September 30th, the Sanderling Community will roll all trash and recycling cans out to the street and roll the receptacles back after the trash is collected. Please do not roll the receptacles to the curb and please do not block the bins.

For homes North of Blue Heron, from October 1st to April 30th, please roll receptacles to the curb the night before the scheduled collection day and roll the receptacles back after the trash is collected.

The homes South of Blue Heron please roll receptacles to the curb the night before the scheduled collection day and roll the receptacles back after the trash is collected.

In the off-season (November 1 - April 30) recycling is on the 1st & 3rd Monday of the month only.

All exterior lights off by 11pm.

Motor bikes, ATVs and motor homes/campers are prohibited in our community and may not be parked or stored in the community. Jet skis and wave runners may not be used, operated, launched, retrieved, tied up at any dock, moored in the sound or ocean, parked or stored anywhere in the community.

Parking is not allowed along or on Sanderling streets or mowed areas. All vehicles should be parked in driveways.
