Check-In and Check-Out
Check-In begins at 4:00PM
Unless early check-in was confirmed and paid for prior to arrival.
Guests staying in keyless homes will not come to the office for check-in. You may go directly to the home once you receive your text message or notification that the home is ready for your arrival. Read our troubleshooting guide for additional information.
We will be offering curbside check-in at our Duck and Corolla office for homes with physical keys. You may proceed to the office to pick up your keys to the home once you receive the text message or notification that the home is ready for your arrival.
To find out if your home has keys or keyless entry:
- Go to your home’s listing on our website.
- Scroll down to the "Amenities".
- If the home has keyless entry, it will show under Featured Amenities. (If you do not see this listed, then the home has physical keys.)
You will receive a text message when the home is ready. If you arrive in the area early, please refrain from going to the home or parking in the driveway until you receive the notification. Parking at the home could delay or stop services from being completed.
In order to maintain proper social distancing, we also ask that you refrain from waiting at our offices so that guests who need to pick up their keys may do so safely and comfortably. Looking for things to do? Hit the beach, take a walk, grab a bite to eat, etc. Browse the Travel Guide
Maintenance and pool-service may still be ongoing when you arrive at the home. Please allow the technicians to complete their work before entering. Do not get in a pool or hot tub unless it has been serviced.
For reservations that include linens, beds will be made with fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillow cases only. Comforters have been removed and will not be on the beds. A blanket will be in the closet for you to use, but we encourage you to bring your own warmth layer. Blankets are not washed in between every guest. You are welcome to launder prior to using if it fits in the washing machine and dryer at the home. Please do not overload.
Our housekeeping crews are thoroughly trained before preparing any homes and our housekeeping supervision team perform routine quality assurance checks to ensure that cleaning processes are followed. Cleaning crews and staff are supplied with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
We are utilizing products that are EPA-approved for use against the virus that causes COVID-19. We are also taking additional precautions such as more targeted disinfecting of high touch/high traffic surfaces including tables, faucets, railings and doorknobs.

Sheets and towels are laundered in a highly automated and sophisticated commercial laundry facility, where they are wrapped in plastic immediately after laundering. Beds are made by our housekeepers who are instructed on proper handling of laundry.
Pools and Spas
Pools and hot tubs are cleaned and chemically treated prior to each guest's arrival, as well as a midweek chemical check.
The CDC has stated there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools, hot tubs or spas, or water playgrounds. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools, hot tubs or spas, and water playgrounds should inactivate the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Do not get in a pool or hot tub on arrival day unless it has been serviced.
As always, we are here to help should you need assistance during your stay. In an effort to offer service safely and in accordance with social distancing guidelines, expect troubleshooting steps and solutions provided to you over the phone prior to a field technician being sent to the home.
If a field technician is sent to the home, the following steps will be taken:
- We will make our best effort to notify you by phone or text message ahead of time before our field technician arrives.
- Twiddy Technicians will apply personal protective equipment and announce themselves prior to entering the home.
- We will ask you to clear the level they will be working on.
- The area will be disinfected as needed before the technician departs.
Please keep in mind, local service providers and vendors outside of Twiddy have their own protocols in place.
