Welcome Back. We've Missed You.

We're thrilled to welcome you to the Outer Banks.

As of May 16th, visitors can now return to our vacation homes and beaches.

Few things feed the soul like the warmth of the sun, the crashing of waves, the scent of salt air, and being together with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming you as we’ve done for more than 40 years, with southern hospitality and a commitment to doing our part to ensure a vacation that will bring you many cherished memories for years to come.

Check-In and Check-Out

Check-In begins at 4:00PM
Unless early check-in was confirmed and paid for prior to arrival.

To ensure you are alerted when it is time to check-in, please confirm your cell phone number on file by logging in to your Twiddy.com account and navigating to the 'My Information' section, or you may download the Twiddy app if you prefer not to receive text messages.

Keyless Homes

Guests staying in keyless homes will not come to the office for check-in. You may go directly to the home once you receive your text message or notification that the home is ready for your arrival. Read our troubleshooting guide for additional information.

Keyed Homes

In an effort to limit contact, we will be offering curbside check-in at our Duck and Corolla office for homes with physical keys. You may proceed to the office to pick up your keys to the home once you receive the text message or notification that the home is ready for your arrival.

Communities

Community amenities may not be available for your stay. Some community pools have started reopening at limited capacities, but gyms are still currently closed by the North Carolina Governor's state orders.

To find out if your home has keys or keyless entry:

  1. Go to your home’s listing on our website.
  2. Scroll down to the "Amenities".
  3. If the home has keyless entry, it will show under Featured Amenities. (If you do not see this listed, then the home has physical keys.)

You will receive a text message when the home is ready. If you arrive in the area early, please refrain from going to the home or parking in the driveway until you receive the text. Parking at the home could delay or stop services from being completed.

In order to maintain proper social distancing, we also ask that you refrain from waiting at our offices so that guests who need to pick up their keys may do so safely and comfortably. Looking for things to do? Hit the beach, take a walk, grab a bite to eat, etc. Browse the Travel Guide

Maintenance and pool-service may still be ongoing when you arrive at the home. Please allow the technicians to complete their work before entering. Do not get in a pool or hot tub unless it has been serviced.

Blankets and/or Comforters will be placed in the closets and will not be on the beds. These are not washed in between every guest. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer at the home if you would like to launder any prior to using, but please know not all comforters will fit in the machines. We encourage you to bring blankets and comforters from home.

Housekeeping

Our housekeeping crews are thoroughly trained before preparing any homes and our housekeeping supervision team perform routine quality assurance checks to ensure that cleaning processes are followed. Cleaning crews and staff are supplied with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

We are utilizing products that are EPA-approved for use against the virus that causes COVID-19. We are also taking additional precautions such as more targeted disinfecting of high touch/high traffic surfaces including tables, faucets, railings and doorknobs.

Linens

For reservations that include linens, beds will be made with fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillow cases only. Blankets and/or Comforters will be placed in the closets and will not be on the beds. We encourage you to bring your own warmth layer. If you would like to use the blanket or comforter in the closet, please launder prior to using.

Sheets and towels are laundered in a highly automated and sophisticated commercial laundry facility, where they are wrapped in plastic immediately after laundering. Beds are made by our housekeepers who are instructed on proper handling of laundry.

Pools and Spas

Pools and hot tubs are cleaned and chemically treated prior to each guest's arrival, as well as a midweek chemical check.

The CDC has stated there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools, hot tubs or spas, or water playgrounds. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools, hot tubs or spas, and water playgrounds should inactivate the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

Do not get in a pool or hot tub on arrival day unless it has been serviced.

Maintenance Requests

As always, we are here to help should you need assistance during your stay. In an effort to offer service safely and in accordance with social distancing guidelines, expect troubleshooting steps and solutions provided to you over the phone prior to a field technician being sent to the home.

If a field technician is sent to the home, the following steps will be taken:

  • We will make our best effort to notify you by phone or text message ahead of time before our field technician arrives.
  • Technicians will apply personal protective equipment and announce themselves prior to entering the home.
  • We will ask you to clear the level they will be working on.
  • The area will be disinfected as needed before the technician departs.

Please keep in mind, local service providers and vendors outside of Twiddy may have additional safety protocols in place to ensure the safety of their staff and customers.

Supplies

Like many places in the United States, shoppers should expect to see changes in product availability at grocery and retail outlets. Guests should bring essentials with them, including paper and sanitizing products and non-perishable groceries. It is not recommended to ship items to the Outer Banks as delivery dates could change and packages could be missed.
