With a very short walk to the beach, its own private pool, and close proximity to the local shops and restaurants of Duck Village, "Windy City" is the perfect vacation home for you and yours. Amenities such as a basketball goal and foosball are sure to keep you busy, while a short walk or bike ride will take you to the community tennis courts and pool of the Bias Shores community. After a fun-filled day of activities, watch a breathtaking sunset over the peaceful Currituck Sound on the community's private pier. Families with small children may also enjoy the option of calm water on the sound side sandy beach.

"We loved having the pool and the distance to the beach was a reasonable walk. The house has had the kitchen updated since we last stayed there and new couches in the living room. We love the great room where the kitchen, living room and large table are located. Is nice to have everyone able to hang out in one large space. Having the main balcony plus a smaller one on the other side of the house allows you escape the sun if you want to while being out on a balcony. The addition of the elevator was a game changer for my parents who came with us and allowed them to avoid the stairs when they needed to."

"Elevator wasn't necessary, but helpful with groceries and luggage. Having the pool heated made the entire trip! The basketball hoop and Foosball table were great, too. The house was wonderful!"

"The homeowner thought of everything! Having bottled water at the home was wonderful and greatly appreciated. We have been coming to OBX for around 20 yrs and have never had this. Also, having extra towel racks in each bedroom was helpful. Many houses say that they have beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, etc and when you arrive they are just a bunch of rusty mess. Windy City had a well organized closet full of pool/beach equipment that they have renters access too. These are just a few nice features that made us want to come back again!!"
"Windy City home has some features that made our stay in OBX quite enjoyable. The distance of the home to the beach is very kid friendly!(no complaints of, "my feet hurt, this is too far") An elevator made unloading luggage and groceries so convenient as well as packing up after a week of leisure. We enjoyed the private pool often, even after spending most of the day at the beach. The kids had a game room including Foosball to keep them occupied on poor weather days. The home also has many sand toys for beach use so you don't need to bring your own. Overall, this was a very nice stay at Windy City."
"The Windy City house is really a joy to be at - second time now. Always clean with good kitchen and house amenities, nice pool, and easy access to the beach, as well as nearby Duck restaurants, shops, and grocery. We had a few inquiries/needs during our visit and Twiddy was responsive in addressing them. A great experience!"

"This was an amazing home! It comfortably fit four adults and five teens/child…each room with its own bathroom (shower/sink/toilet) plus a half bath by the third-floor kitchen and first-floor entry. Well-stocked kitchen of bakeware, cookware, and gadgets - it met all our cooking needs and made for complete meal prep. Great entertainment for the kids - child toys, complex puzzles, Wii sports, and DVDs/cable (although the kids wanted larger TVs…but we’re here for the beach!!!). Fantastic pool complete w/ pool gear - inner tubes, goggles, beach chairs, sun umbrellas (pool, beach), and sand toys. Quick walk to the beach (2 min) on a quiet neighborhood street. Because the beach was part of the “neighborhood” there was ample space to spread out and enjoy - not crowded at all. The hone had great spaces to relax individually or as a group - good use of patio furniture and for shade babies (like me) I really appreciated the pool landscaping/house placement that had beautiful shade in AM/PM to allow for full-time use of the heated pool. There is little you need to bring outside of love to be by the ocean. The house came with one bike (very nice) to ride up to the shopping plazas in Duck (1/2 mile), and really well placed for entrance/exit to OBX. Twiddy did a great job sending the keyless codes and responding to any needs. Final notes…bring your own paper materials (kitchen, bath), laundry supplies (good washer/dryer), beach towels, and seasonings. If you requested the heated pool - write to Twiddy in-advance to confirm. Gas grill was nice (it was filled) and lots to do inside even with some torrential late PM/early AM rains…bring your Roku/Firestick for the top/bottom floor TVs. The elevator was really nice to bring up groceries and luggage…although as earlier post noted, the kitchen has 3-4 stairs up to it (not handicap accessible…idly you needed that) as are 2-3 stairs to the third-floor master…the second floor masters are accessible. Will defiantly be back - Windy City lived up to its namesake and was perfect! Thanks!!"
"Enjoyed our stay! Home was very nice and super close to the beach! Private pool was great! My biggest complaint would have to be the bed in the master bedroom, was like sleeping on a concrete slab. Hopefully they will look into upgrading to some quality comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again."

"The home was lovely and very well maintained. I would caution to those who like to sleep in that the upstairs master bedroom curtains allow a lot of light into the room. Perhaps if the owners placed black out curtains late risers would be more comfortable. I used an extra blanket to cover the large sliding glass door. The water cooler was a nice touch and it kept us from having to buy tons of cases of water. The pool was dirty upon check in but that is not the owner’s fault. The beach was a quick 5 minute walk away, which was wonderful. We were pleased to have a gas grill instead one of the standard charcoal grills. Overall the home is spacious and very comfortable for a group of 10. We had a very nice stay."
"Windy city is a great home for families - it's got a pool, elevator, outdoor shower, many spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and a game room. It's a very short walk to the beach (45 seconds if you're not weighed down with a small child) and there are no busy roads to cross. The kids can ride their bikes safely into town. We've rented this for house for almost 20 years now. My only request - can we lobby for sunday to sunday rentals? I'm getting too old to sit in that bridge traffic ;)"

"Although this home has an elevator, it is not wheelchair friendly as the top/living floor requires two steps up to the kitchen, dining area and both third floor bathrooms. Total of six steps up to the master bedroom. Don't confuse elevator with access. But it sure made it easy to load in all the stuff for the week!! (Got a hip going bad so the steps were just a minor inconvenience not a serious problem. ) Very convenient to Duck as it is located just above the Duck/Southern Shores town limits. Rained most days we were there but the Homeowners provided some challenging 1000 piece puzzles to keep folks entertained. In the 30 years we've been going to OBX and OIB, it's the first time we tried puzzles. Went very well."
