"The large fenced-in yard is by far the best feature of this house. We've stayed in many homes in The Outer Banks that claim they have a fenced in yard, but there is never any grass (lack of irrigation), the fence is falling down, or it's just the fenced in pool area. This was perfect for our pups. Milky Way's proximity to TimBuck II and other restaurants is our second favorite feature. We always try to rent in Buck Island for this reason. We love being able to walk to and from dinner every night, and also having the beach and the Corolla Greenway so close by as well for running and biking. Lastly, we love how quiet and well-maintained (landscaped) the community is, and how nice everyone who lives here is (we met many of the owners since it was the off-season)."

"Milky Way was exceptionally clean upon our arrival; the pool and hot tub were well-maintained and also super-clean. The two refrigerators, two dishwashers, and three sinks were very welcome. Beds were comfortable, and the updated bathrooms were very nice. There was plenty of outdoor and poolside seating, and that also was comfortable and very clean. First time visiting Buck Island, and we loved the community. All in all, Milky Way is one of the very best homes we have rented, and we have been doing this for over 50 years. We also always appreciate the responsiveness and the politeness which Twiddy always provides."
"Great community with a nice playground, community pool, tennis & pickle ball courts. Large home with room for 4 couples and kids, private pool, nice beach. Lots to do in Corolla. Love the bike /walking paths and the large sound side park with a new large playground."

"Loved the updates over the past few years! Home is comfortable and relaxing with plenty of space for the family to be together or have some private space. Top floor master bath upgrade is beautiful. Love the community and close proximity to the beach and that there are lifeguards. My husband is a professor and needs to check in on his classes while on vacation; the upper office loft is perfect for him. A couple of our grandkids were taking online college courses so they also used that area. Suggestions: 1)Add keyless entry to front door; 2)we always have a difficult time with the stovetop getting hot enough when we have several pots for our seafood boil; 3)still had problems with the toilet in the 1/2 bath on the landing floor; 4)would love to see the whirlpool replaced with a larger wall in shower; 5)would like to see better quality pool furniture; 6)would be nice if the pool could be checked out and cleaned and ready for use at check in, we normally wait a couple of days and we have kids who are ready for the pool; 7)not sure you are aware but to get the microwave to work the door has to be slammed really hard. This was our 7th year as a family … kids and grandkids, and our 6th year in this home. We love this home and hope to enjoy many more years making memories there."
