"We LOVED the Mark Twain Beach House for our wedding venue! This location in our country is magical and you will understand if you ever get so lucky to stay in this area. We are adventurous people and it wasn't easy to plan this event or get all of our guests in and out for the event. So be prepared to roll with the punches and I would not recommend having older guests and I would recommend working with an event coordination team. The immensity and beauty of this venue was awesome even though the house is a bit old and has some old appliances and some maintenance issues it has more character than flaws. Twiddy helped us get to the house and was a text away if we needed anything. We love Ed! He rescued us lost in the dunes! Wedding vacation with the pup, family, and friends was perfection!"

"It was an adventure drive to the house! Beautiful setting, huge space and perfect for families!"

Linda   ·  Stayed July 2022

"Big, beautiful, gorgeous 360 views, perfect for large groups to gather"

Alison   ·  Stayed July 2021

"Enjoyed our stay at the Mark Twain. Loved the space of the house and the amenities. The house is showing some age. Appliances were tricky to use and outside decks were shaky. The house was well appointed and perfect for a large family gathering. Pool and pool house were great! The midges were bothersome and easily found their way into the house. There was an issue with the air conditioning on lower level and Twiddy was prompt and attentive to fix it. Overall a great stay!"

Jon   ·  Stayed June 2021

"Our family of 30+ absolutely loved the Mark Twain. The sleeping accommodations were large, spacious, clean, and very private. What was equally amazing was the dining and entertainment available on the 2nd floor. The kitchen was huge and large enough for 4 large pots of crab for steaming and 2 for corn on the cob. The location right on the Corolla Beach is unsurpassed. We will come back."

John   ·  Stayed May 2021

"Overall we had a great experience and the home was large enough to accommodate our entire family. However, we were a little disappointed in the condition of the home and the cleanliness. Regardless, we made the best of it and enjoyed our time in the OBX"

Jonathan   ·  Stayed December 2020

"It is a great home. Some areas of the home are showing some age and wear. We had intermittent issues with not having hot showers on the first floor. Overall a good experience, but far from perfect."
