If you’ve ever dreamed of your Outer Banks vacation feeling like a coastal adventure, “Summer Academy” is the place for you! Perched on the oceanfront in Carova Beach, accessible only by 4-wheel vehicles, this oceanfront escape combines rugged freedom, majestic ocean views, and all the comforts you want for a memorable getaway. What truly sets this spot apart is its location: in the natural setting of the 4x4 beach, where the Corolla wild horses roam freely through dunes and along the shoreline.
Getting to the home is part of the fun, as you drive on the beach to get to the home. Once you arrive, the oceanfront location rewards you with striking views of rolling waves and the wild beauty of Carova Beach.
Inside, the great room feels airy and welcoming, with large windows that frame the ocean and let light pour in, making it a natural gathering spot for relaxing, chatting, or just watching the surf. The living area offers a cozy nook, perfect for curling up with a book or enjoying a quiet moment. The spacious kitchen is beautifully outfitted with an island and excellent prep space, so whether you're planning big family breakfasts or a seafood feast, it’s ready for you. The dining area centers around a large table that naturally brings everyone together for meals, board games, or planning your next beach adventure. Upstairs, the loft is a serene perch, great for reading or watching for dolphins. In the early mornings, brew your coffee and step outside onto the deck to see a stunning sunrise over the ocean.
Down on the lower level, the rec room features a pool table, a wet bar, and space for lounging, so it’s ideal for movie nights, game tournaments, or catching up after a day in the sun.
An elevator runs through the home, making it easy to move between floors even with beach gear or groceries in tow.
Outside is where the magic really happens: a private pool invites you to splash, float, or sunbathe. When you’re ready for a break from the sun, the poolside cabana provides shade while still letting you be part of the action. After dark, the adjacent hot tub is perfect for soaking under open skies as the evening cools and stars begin to appear. When you’re ready for some beach time, there is a convenient private walkway to the beach.
When it’s time to rest, each bedroom feels like a tranquil retreat. On the top floor, there is one ensuite bedroom with deck access and a whirlpool tub in the private bathroom. Four additional ensuite bedrooms are on the middle floor, each with a private bathroom and access to the deck. One additional bedroom and a full bathroom are available on the second floor. On the ground floor, there are two ensuite bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and deck access. The final bedroom and full bathroom are also on the ground floor.

Situated on the wonderfully unique 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach offers vacationing friends and families the opportunity to enjoy time together on the coast without the distractions of a bustling neighborhood environment. A four-wheel drive vehicle is needed to navigate the beaches where Carova Beach rental homes are located. The northern-most community of the 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach is approximately 8 miles from the beach access ramp and stretches north for about 3 miles to the Virginia border. While there are no roads, restaurants, or shops in Carova Beach, what you will find is a breathtakingly beautiful & vast shoreline, roaming wild horses and a positively ideal vacation environment.
