Please do not allow children or pets to ride the elevator unattended. Children should not play in or around the elevator. Do not allow a child to stand between the elevator gate and landing door. Never enter the elevator hoistway above or below the elevator cab for any reason. Do not operate or attempt to operate the elevator if the cab gate or landing door locking system is not functioning properly. Do not operate or attempt to operate the elevator if you detect any unusual sounds or the ride seems abnormal. If the elevator is not operating properly, do not attempt to service or repair the elevator yourself, please contact our office. Failure to follow these instructions could result in severe injury or death.

Pets are permitted in homes that list “Pet-Friendly” in the description (NO EXCEPTIONS). Some pet-friendly homes have specific restrictions regarding the number, size or type of pet noted in the individual description. Unless otherwise advertised, a maximum of two pets is allowed. There is no additional fee for bringing pets to pet-friendly homes, unless otherwise stated. Pets are not permitted in pools or hot tubs. Pets must be well-behaved and housebroken. A violation of the pet policy is cause for termination of tenancy.

This home has physical keys. Keys are picked up at the Twiddy office when the home is available for check-in.

A way for the homeowner to say "Welcome, and enjoy your stay."

Twiddy homes that advertise Welcome Program as an amenity provide guests with a Vacation Starter Kit for their arrival. Enjoy the convenience of starter supplies such as a roll of paper towels, a dish soap, and a trash bag, all in a Twiddy insulated cooler bag. Additionally, hand soap and a roll of toilet paper will be placed in every bathroom.

These homeowners want to take care of some of the little necessities so you may begin to relax and enjoy your vacation. Please note that this is not intended to be a full supply for your stay. Guests are responsible for providing their own paper products, trash bags, and soaps.

Oceanfront

No other property/lot between the home and the beach. Dunes may obstruct ocean views; may or may not have direct beach access.

2nd-Tier Oceanfront

Although considered oceanfront, 2nd-tier oceanfront lots are shaped like the ivory keys on a piano with the narrow end facing the ocean. Views to the side may be obscured by another home.

Semi-Oceanfront

One lot from the beach; may or may not have direct beach access, ocean views or a street between the home and the beach.

Oceanside

East of NC 12; distance to the beach varies.

Soundfront

Homes that directly front the sound; may or may not have access to the sound.

Soundside

West of NC 12; may or may not have direct access to the sound.

Lakeside

West of NC 12 and east of Crystal Lake in The Villages at Ocean Hill.

Lakefront

West of NC 12 and fronts Crystal Lake in The Villages at Ocean Hill.

Westside

West of NC 12; three or four lots from the beach.

Canalfront

A four-wheel drive vehicle is required to access the home. These homes directly front a canal that connects to the sound.

For $195 plus tax, you may be able to check-in early to your home.

Standard check-in time is 4:00 pm. Early check-in is 1:00 pm. A limited number of 1:00 pm check-ins are available and we cannot offer this service for certain homes, including those with seven or more bedrooms or homes occupied by owners the preceding week.

Twiddy homes that advertise K Club Golf as an amenity provide guests with discounted golf rates at the Kilmarlic Golf Club, as well as, access to instructional clinics, club dining and special weekly summer sports camps for kids.

The condition of beach walkways, decks, and stairs changes quickly with wind, weather, erosion, and natural sand migration. We make every effort to maintain the accurate status of home amenities, but do not guarantee their complete accuracy due to unexpected changes to the coastline.

This home may have an outdoor street or driveway-facing security camera.

Community amenity availability dates vary and are determined by each individual community. Some community amenities may only be available in-season or require a fee for use. Please contact our office for details.

Lockbox entry means that guests will be able to check-in to the home remotely, without having to come to the office, but access to the home is with a physical key. Guests will receive a key code when the home is ready for check-in. This key code is used to open the lockbox at the home. Inside the lockbox is a key, which will be used for the duration of stay and must be returned upon checkout.
