Get ready for a relaxing vacation with “A Sound View!” This impressive sound front vacation home in Duck offers a tranquil setting while being convenient to the beach and all that the town of Duck has to offer.
The great room showcases sweeping views of the sound and comfortably seats 12. Prepare meals in the spacious, well-appointed kitchen and enjoy dinner in the dining area which features two walls of windows and seats 10. The breakfast table adds additional seating for 6-8. Grab a post-dinner beverage or dessert and step out onto the deck to watch the sun go down for the evening. The granite countertops in the kitchen offer plenty of meal prep space, and the double wall ovens help you cook quickly, all with the sparkling sound as your backdrop. A wet bar with ice maker is conveniently located to the side of the main food prep area. The kitchen includes a separate water tap which dispenses purified water so you can skip the plastic bottles. The Level 3 deck offers plenty of seating for taking in the majestic sound sunsets. After watching the sunset, retire to the hot tub to gaze at the stars.
A loft off of the great room offers a quiet place to sit and relax. The top level also features the principal bedroom with a gas fireplace, sitting area, sound views, and a spacious ensuite bath with jetted tub, double walk-in shower, double vanity, and walk-in closet. The top level is completed by a half bathroom.
Step down the curved staircase to the middle level, which is a mix of common areas and bedrooms. Screen the latest movies in the media room, which includes a wet bar, ice maker, and microwave to keep snacks and drinks close by. The handsome study is a great place to read a book, catch up on work, watch your favorite show, or have the ultimate vacation poker night. The middle level also contains five bedrooms: one ensuite bedroom with a Queen and private, attached bathroom, one king bedroom and one queen bedroom that share a separate bathroom, and then down a half flight of steps (four risers) in the wing you will find a King bedroom with a semi-private bathroom, and the bunk room which comfortably sleeps six children, and the media room. Please note that steps are required to access the wing spaces. Laundry facilities are conveniently located on the middle level as well. The deck on Level 2 comes complete with a hammock, a double swing, and several seating areas.
The garage on the ground level is no ordinary garage, as there is a pool table and a ping pong table, and a full-size refrigerator and a half bathroom. The garage game room will feature epoxy floors, a relocated refrigerator, and bar area. This area will be climate controlled, and the garage doors will be replaced with windowed units. Please note that the new garage doors will not be operational to maintain climate control but will feature a passage door for convenience.
The elevator is located just inside the garage entry and serves all levels, but a half flight of stairs is required to access the media room and two second-floor wing bedrooms.
Outside, make a splash in the large private pool or soak in the sunshine on the loungers. The pool deck also features a double-length dining table that seats 10 for meals alfresco. The gas grill and a bar top table and stools are located under a lit gazebo for late night poolside cookouts and cocktails. The home's long, private dock to the sound includes a gently sloping ramp to access the water, and is a family favorite for adventures exploring the warm, calm, shallow waters of the Currituck Sound. Bring your own boats and anchor them off the dock for a higher octane adventure (a private boat ramp at North Duck Watersports, 1.4 miles north of the house, allows you to put in/take out for a small fee). The house also features an integrated sound system which is app-controlled and compatible with bluetooth and airplay, serving the great room area, the master bedroom and bath, the library, and pool deck.
For beach days, this home's sister property, An Ocean View (B742), has two(!) reserved parking spaces for A Sound View guests. Just load up your car (or rent/bring a golf cart!) and drive over to the ocean and two streets down (.5 mile). From the parking spaces the public access is to the north, just one house down. This convenience is rare in the Outer Banks, and gives guests of A Sound View the best of both sound AND sea! “A Sound View” allows you to fully and conveniently enjoy all of the natural wonder of the Outer Banks!
