Location, Location, Location!
Went to Duck expecting a nice vacation and ended up with family memories that will last a lifetime! The owners were incredibly responsive and informative answering all our questions. We felt as if we had a personal concierge who was invested in making our stay as wonderful as possible. It doesn't get better than that. Still, the best thing about our trip was location, location, location! You think you want something oceanfront, but I won't make that mistake again. The home is located just STEPS away from the darling town of Duck, replete with shops to die for (check out June Allen if you like monograms) and delicious food (Tommy's Market has the best shrimp I've ever had) as well as hip, quirky bars like Roadside (the back yard is too fun). We walked to dinner every night. And, had a ton of fun hanging out and enjoying the ambiance. The sunset at Aqua truly rivals the sunsets in Key West or Newport Beach. Don't think we've ever taken so many pictures. The house itself is huge. We had five families in our group. Everyone had their own space and place to chill. The top floor was perfect for dinners and movies. The bottom floor has a bar-like feel. And the sunlight through out was overwhelming. The new hardwood floors are also pretty beautiful. We started the day at the indoor community center right across the street from the home with a good work out and our kids loved the pool. Not to mention the heated hot tub at the house. We had so much fun. Okay, goes to say we can't wait to go back. See you next soon Here Comes The Sun!! Thank you, Your Southern Cal Guests

Here Comes The Sun II is an OBX GEM!! Our family stayed here for several days in October 2017 with two other families. We've come down to OBX many times and Here Comes The Sun II is the nicest place that we've stayed at. Access to the house was a breeze and we found everything we needed when we got there. The house itself was perfect: super clean, spacious open-floor plan, tastefully decorated, comfy beds, strong AC and a well-stocked kitchen (all kinds of pots, pans, and baking items). There are lots of sleeping options to accommodate a large group and the house is loaded with fun things to do when you're not at the beach: all sorts of board games, pool table, volleyball area, outdoor pool, hot tub, outdoor grill for cooking and a great hammock to enjoy . For me, the best part about the house is the LOCATION. It's an easy 10 minutes walk to the beach, an easy 5 minutes walk to the town of Duck, and about 5 minutes walk to the scenic boardwalk. There's plenty of good restaurants nearby, all a quick 5 minutes walk away. There was a great jazz festival in Duck during the weekend of our stay, and it was so nice to be able to walk to the festival and not have to worry about parking. The ocean water was too cold to swim in October so the kids enjoyed swimming in the pool behind the house, and dipping in the hot tub. As the community center is located directly across the house, it was so easy for us to go back and forth between the outdoor pool at the house and the large indoor pool at the community center. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful amenities at the community center which included a large heated indoor pool, fitness facilities, several ping pong tables, and two nicely-maintained tennis courts. Duck is such a great place for families - quaint, quiet, safe, fun, and Here Comes the Sun II is the perfect home!! We highly recommend this home and we plan to come back here ourselves.

We stayed at ‘Here Comes the Sun’ in July 2017. We have two reviews. Adult review: Great, comfortable space for large families, walking and biking trails to the gorgeous town of Duck and trails that lead to the beautiful beach, relaxing space in the backyard with pool, hot tub and volleyball court, fab restaurants and stores so close, balconies for your own quiet time, easy shuttle access if you do not want to walk the neighborhood, stocked kitchen, I could go on! Kid review (ages 10 & 13): Love that you can walk to beach and to town, and the rec center is right across the street! Awesome sea shell collecting and great places to take pictures. So many SMART TVs and places to chill. We want to go back! We love this rental. The renters are very thoughtful and mindful of details to make you feel welcome to make it an amazing vacation! We give it 5 stars for the price and access to everything! -The Ruffing Family
