Chateau E'lan

"We love the second floor main room instead of the usual third floor, as it adds quiet third floor bedrooms. We also love the layout of the house in general, and the ability to see both sunset and sunrise. An underrated feature is the little mini-deck on the steps to the beach, as we love sitting out there at the end of the day and watching the waves. The kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of cooking items to make it easier for us to cook all week. Finally, the owners seem very nice and we've seen them go above and beyond a few times to make our stay better."

"The location is fabulous as only one row of houses feeds onto the beach. We felt like it was 'our' beach. The house is very quiet. With a full house, you hardly heard anyone. The common space was the best we have had in 30 years of house rentals. There were various spots where people could sit and the noise level was fine."

"We loved the spacious living room/dining room/kitchen area. The kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also spacious. We enjoyed the view of the ocean as well as the sunsets over the sound. Nicely located between Duck and Corolla. We will stay there again in the future."

"Amazing views, from sunrise to sunset! This house was outstanding, plenty of room for our group of 16. Love the new furniture and table in the great room. It’s hard to find a house in OBX that has a lot of king and queen master suites, but this one has plenty. We do adult only vacations and this house checks all the boxes. Twiddy is a great company to work with. We had one repair that was needed and they addressed it in a timely matter. You can’t go wrong with this house and Twiddy!"

"We left the layout of the home and the size/Placement of the bedrooms. The pool was fantastic with the kitty pool connected to it. The access to the beach was not steep or difficult to manage. We love Pine Island!"

"Beautiful, well-stocked kitchen. We especially loved the kiddy-pool addition to the regular pool. The master bedrooms were spacious and we appreciated the elevator and rec room area on the first floor."

"The home has a very nice curb appeal. The Ocean side appearance is what attracted us to this home! The windows are amazing and offer stunning ocean views. The elevator was extremely helpful with our older guests. Although the weather was chilly for our week the heated pool and hot tub were excellent entertainment for the younger crew."

"This house checked all the boxes. Beach and beach access were great. We had a large group and everybody found a room that was perfect for them. Kitchen was well equipped and designed to prepare big meals for a large group. Pool, and especially the kiddie pool, fit our needs."

"Spacious home - well suited our family of 17 people including 10 adults & 7 grandchildren ages 2 - 11 - with plenty of room to spare. Great private access to the beach with a nice pool & hot tub. The pool has a nice little wading area for the 2 year old. Kitchen is well stocked with the dishes needed as we cooked all of our meals. More plastic wear for the pool side and the kids would be a nice addition. We had a wonderful week."

"House in itself was great. Lots of room. Some furniture was outdated with lots of water marks but that’s to be expected in a rental. Beds are very comfortable. Main kitchen is amazing. Pool set up was perfect."

"Chateau Elan is a beautiful home and didn't disappoint. It was the perfect place for our family to gather during these trying homes. The house was very well equipped especially in the kitchen. Even the weather for the week was wonderful."

"House was perfect for our our family gathering plenty of group space as well as private space. It could use a deep cleaning noted dust and cobwebs in out of reach spaces"

"All in all, the home itself was quite wonderful. We did have to contact Twiddy for additional cleaning though due to an excessive amount of cobwebs and some dirt on the walls and whatnot. They were very quick to assist, however! My only true gripe is we paid extra to keep the pool open for our stay and the pool was indeed left open, but it was filthy and we were unable to use it. All in all though, quite a wonderful home!"

"This house was great for our large family. Loved watching the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over the sound from the front porch. Having the main gathering area on the second floor is a huge plus. Discovering a third washer, dryer, mini fridge and working ice machine was a nice surprise. The only item we never found was a blender. We were a bit freaked out by the amount of spiders and webs. To be expected I suppose, being so close to the sound. A big thank you to the owners for letting us rent their home and for the lovely goody bag of treats!"

"Beds were super comfortable. Layout was great. Location was great. Kitchen and entertainment system was great. Fabulous for a big group. Four stars (would have been 4.5 if they had 1/2 stars) because the needs to be some deep cleaning, (dead bugs everywhere) one of the windows leaked in the basement. The cabana service needs to be replaced, we had a broken umbrella for two days. All-in-all, it's a great house and we had a great time."

"This was a beautiful home with an amazing view and perfect location. Huge house that accommodated a large group and a great bedroom layout. The kitchen was fantastic. It was a little dated and could use some updates and a little love. The deck is smaller than the pictures portrayed, which was a little disappointing for an event or large gathering. The beds were all comfortable and the games and amenities were great for the kids. Would recommend and stay there again for sure."
