Experience the Outer Banks vacation of a lifetime at “The Dune Buggy” at Penny’s Hill Beach Club! Uniquely situated at the foot of Penny’s Hill on the 4x4 beach, panoramic views of the ocean and the sound are yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay. The home is located in an exclusive and unique area of the Outer Banks and “The Dune Buggy” offers top of the line accommodations and amenities. The modern coastal property consists of a main home and a guest house that connect via covered decks. Plenty of parking space is available outside of the home for everyone in your group.
The gorgeous water views are the highlight of the top floor of the main home. To the east, the sparkling ocean view shines through the windows of the great room, which is the home’s main gathering place. To the west, expansive views of the large sand dune Penny’s Hill and the Currituck Sound give you a sense of how special of a location you are in at that very moment. Expansive decks on the top floor of the home allow you to step outside and enjoy the salty ocean breeze at any time of the day. Relax with loved ones in the screened porch, which features an outdoor electric fireplace to gather around. Be on the lookout for the Corolla Wild Horses that regularly roam through the area. Gather the family to relax in the living area and watch TV or simply catch up with one another. The coffee bar, which includes an under counter refrigerator and a sink, is the perfect first stop after waking up in the morning. Take your fresh brew outside onto the oceanfront deck to relax and watch the sunrise over the ocean. It’s a great way to start your day! The kitchen is equipped with everything that you need to prepare meals throughout your stay, just add groceries. This home boasts a state-of-the-art double reverse osmosis water filtration system which provides bottled water throughout the house. There is an elevator, which helps to get groceries and luggage from the ground floor up to the second and third levels of the home. Meals can be enjoyed all together in the nearby dining area. After dinner, head outside onto the soundside deck to watch the beautiful OBX sunset on the sound. There are two master bedrooms on the third floor of the main home, each with a private bathroom and one with access to the deck. A half bathroom completes the third floor of the main house.
The middle level of the main house consists of sleeping quarters. There are six master bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Five of the master bedrooms have access to the decks. The laundry room is conveniently located on the second floor. The final two master bedrooms in the main house are located on the ground floor of the home. Each master bedroom has a private bathroom and one has access to the deck. A half bathroom is conveniently located on the ground floor as well.
Additional bedrooms and bathrooms are available in the guest house, which connects to the main house via outdoor covered deck walkways. On the third floor of the guest house, there are two master bedrooms accessible from the deck, each with a private bathroom. On the second floor of the guest house, two master bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, are accessible from the deck. Two of the oceanfront bedrooms on the second and third levels of the guest house each have a private outdoor shower accessible through the bathroom, which also has an indoor shower, offering an outside shower overlooking the ocean and potentially horses in privacy.
On the ground floor of the main house, fun and games are on the agenda. Take family movie night to an epic new level in the theater room. The rec room is equipped with a pool table, arcade game, shuffleboard, and a kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, ice machine, microwave, sink, and a dishwasher. At the beginning of your stay, stock the kitchenette in the game room with snacks and drinks so refreshments are always available. The new fiber optic WiFi will operate at robust speeds up to 1-gigabit upload and download. Allowing for all of your devices and gaming needs to be met at lightning speeds.
Just outside of the main house, the outdoor oasis awaits. Take a dip in the refreshing private pool or simply bask in the sunshine. The lazy river around the perimeter of the pool is the perfect place to relax and float all afternoon. The pool features a fire pit in the middle of the lazy river. A pergola is available when you need to take a break in the shade. After nightfall, relax in one of two hot tubs in the pool area and gaze up at the plethora of stars in the dark night sky. The home’s location approximately 2.5 miles up the 4x4 beach is convenient to shopping, dining, and attractions in nearby Corolla. Homeowner provides a starter kit including soap and toilet paper for each bathroom, four coffee filters, a trash bin liner, dish sponge and travel size dish soap as well as three rolls of paper towels. Large sand dunes have a notable place in Outer Banks history and Penny’s Hill is no exception. Situated approximately 2.5 miles north of the 4x4 beach access ramp, the neighborhood is located adjacent to the giant Penny’s Hill sand dune. Penny’s Hill is located on the 4x4 beach between the ocean and the sound, and it is the second largest sand dune in North Carolina, as Jockey’s Ridge in Nags Head is the largest. A climb to the top of Penny’s Hill offers the opportunity for panoramic views of the natural beauty of the Outer Banks.
