"The location is what keeps bringing us back to The Double Anchor! We love to watch the deer, birds and even saw a few horses one day out of our 4 week stay! The downside of having a lot of windows for a beautiful view is that it is almost impossible to keep them clean enough to see through with the weather! We washed the ones we could reach many times after the storms. After the two hurricanes went through, sand coated the windows. Twiddy sent out Albemarle carpet to clean the windows so we could enjoy the view again. I wanted to give them a public shout out for the amazing work they did! They went above and beyond to get those windows cleaned! We have rented this house before and another company came out that time and did not do a very good job! I very highly recommend Albermarle Carpet! (They do windows too, not just carpet cleaning.)"

"The views are AMAZING. Location is perfect. The open concept family room kitchen etc cannot be beat. We all spend plenty of time in the ships watch watching people drive onto and off of the 4x4 beach. Plenty of primary suits. Plenty of parking. and the heated pool option is the best for the end of May’s unpredictable temperatures. Being able to view horses from time to time from the deck just makes the vacation."

"First, the location and the views from the home were BEAUTIFUL!! Unmatched to any other place we have stayed in the Outer Banks. The home had a beautiful kitchen with all the necessities. Plenty of bedrooms for our family and an amazing pool. There was also a separate room with glass doors what worked well for those that needed to work while visiting the Outer Banks."
"Renting The Double Anchor through Twiddy & Company was easy and hassle-free. The heated pool and hot tub - clean and maintained during our stay - were a big hit with our family. I appreciated plenty of clean bath towels and the wagon we used to lug our chairs and beach gear to the shore. Everyone had a great time in this house and hated to leave. The staff at Twiddy were friendly and accommodating. I asked for a few items and someone (Jizelle I think) brought them over - and while there, brought groceries from my car to the upstairs kitchen!) I recommend Twiddy for anyone wanting to rent a house at the OBX."
"We absolutely loved the location of this house! The feel of being on the 4x4 without actually being on the 4x4. The proximity to the ocean is an easy walk, whether you walk down the road to the 4x4 or you go across the path to the stairs. We saw the horses just about every day when we were there whether we walked to the beach, or they were running down the road back to the 4x4, it was just magical to see them so much. It made the cold weather more bearable. My daughter and her friend had so much fun spending the week here instead of at home for Winter Break. The house had everything we needed and more."

"Location of house is perfect. Views on both sides are great. Beach access is not bad at all. House set up as far as the bedrooms/master beds is perfect. Kitchen is up to date and with enough seating. Stocked with the essentials. Pool and outside area needs some TLC. Lots of bugs this year which did not allow us to enjoy the decks. Recommend more mats in the house to help keep sand down."

"I would have given it five stars based on the location and amenities alone but there were a few negatives: 1. the air conditioning didn't cool the lower 2 levels of the house at all. With the dryer running, the downstairs bedrooms were miserably hot. 2. All wood floors in the house makes for a very noisy house. It seemed like you could hear every bump and thud all night long. Plus sand - I felt like I needed to swiffer the floors constantly. 3. No extras in the kitchen. No salt, sugar, aluminum foil- NOTHING. I've never stayed at a house where there weren't some staples. Not even a pair of scissors! But the location of the house more than makes up for it. Beautiful views and quiet and relaxing."

"Spectacular views and lots of private bathrooms. Very well stocked kitchen. The microwave is very guiet.Nice pool area and hot tub. Several walking routes to the ocean close by. Gas grill is easy to use. Five bedrooms have private deck access. A beautiful kitchen!! We liked the home and would recommend it to others."
