"We loved the home!! From the minute we walked in to the clean smelling house, to cooking in the kitchen, you could not ask for another thing!! Every single thing we needed was provided. We would love to return in 2026, but the home has already been blocked for that month. Maybe another time, but thanks so much. And the decor was gorgeous!! "The Persimmon House was very nice. Home was easy to get to. Was able to get into the house around noon instead of 4pm. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked! It was very clean (my main concern when booking) and views were great! The only negatives were the pillows on the couch seemed worn and dirty and getting to the beach from the persimmon house was almost impossible. It was very steep and there weren’t any railings going down. I used the access one house down to access the beach.. Overall, great house, clean and very comfortable."
We are so glad that you enjoyed Persimmon House! We did notice your feedback on a couple of things. The couch and pillows are brand new, so we have asked Twiddy to check on that! On the dune pathway, we understand. As you likely noticed on your walks on the beach, being directly on the ocean is a give & take relationship - right now, the ocean is mostly "taking." The war on our dune is relentless and expensive. Because of this, we have made the choice to invest our time and finances in improving our home and maintaining the dune as it's been since our home was built 40 years ago. We have decided against stairs for several reasons - but mainly two. First, Our dune repairs that we do each season are much more impactful without steps to navigate. Protecting the dune and our home (the dune is our main source of protection) are very important to us. Secondly, we are very very close to the public access. When we are at Persimmon House, we typically go over the dune as we did this year. However, we realize that not everyone can. This is why we prep all of our guests well in advance on what to expect. We are sorry that this was a surprise. I hope you can understand our approach. In any case, we hope that you will return to Persimmon House and enjoy the best street and one of the best views that Corolla has to offer!

"Our family and friends have been coming to OBX (specifically Duck and Corolla) for about 15 years now, renting various houses all over the place. My wife and I even got married there about 8 years ago if that tells you how much we enjoy this place. While most of the homes we rented were great sure, spacious and served the purpose, this one was much much different. This home felt like a home, so tastefully appointed and decorated, we walked into a little gift bag and signed note from the owners. The private road its on leading right to the water was so nice, no traffic, also a bonus was the top of the road lead us to one of our favorite spots the Beer Garden. The sauna, the amazing kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, well stocked with everything you'd need for cooking, the beach and plenty to do game wise on a bad weather day. The pool was a great size with steps to exit on either side, the hot-tub was welcomed on the colder nights we had on our week there. Updated and clean, but again, in no way felt like a rental home. The binder guide on the table for the homes instructions was well written and informative. By far not the biggest house but we had a smaller group this time so looking for a smaller house in the settings online opened up this gem for us. In summary, this house was amazing, we cant say enough good things about it, we cant wait to come back to this one for years to come. P.S. your American Flag was a little torn of the kitchen deck so i replaced it and put the old one in a drawer by the living room (incase it was sentimental) Thank you again for a wonderful time and such a wonderful home."

"The private pool being on the ocean side was a big plus. There was plenty of outdoor space for everyone. The extra refrigerator downstairs was a big help for cold beverages. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was tastefully decorated. And the big dining table was very nice."
