"Spacious, pool, close to walkway to beach"

"The Lady Drake is a consistently comfortable home. The location is perfect for a beach vacation. The kitchen is well appointed, there isn't anything that my party needed that wasn't provided. As a stand out from other homes I've rented, I truly appreciate the additional ice maker separate from the traditional one within the refrigerator. We used the second oven, the second dishwasher, the second refrigerator, and the separate beverage refrigerator. The beds are comfortable and I truly appreciate quality pillows. We used the laundry facilities daily. The elevator wasn't necessary for our party for this visit, but, it has been necessary for other visits. The extra throw blankets were appreciated and made for a cozy environment at the end of each day."

"Lady Drake is a gorgeous, updated home with beautiful views of the ocean. Lots of space to enjoy family time together, and nooks for personal quiet time (hammock on the mid-floor deck!). The love that the owners have for Corolla, and their personal family history there, is shown through their carefully considered renovation a couple of years ago. The upstairs family room/kitchen/dining areas provides ample space for our large family gathering to prepare and enjoy meals together, playing games, etc. Easy walk to the beach. Buck Island location offers community pool, tennis/pickle ball courts, turtle pond and convenient access to shopping, restaurants, etc."

"Lady Drake was perfect for our 4-family vacation. The updated appliances and furniture were appreciated. The home is just as pictured on the website. Having two tables for meals was an added bonus so that all of us could eat together at mealtimes. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets. The children spent endless hours in the pool and theater room. The beach was a close walk using the public entryway next to the house. A few minor issues were quickly and efficiently addressed by Twiddy, making our stay phenomenal!"

"Beautifully renovated home designed with a casual elegance atmosphere, exactly as described. The top level family gathering area has the best seating arrangements for dining and hanging out of any house we have stayed (accommodated our group of 13 easily). With our large family, we appreciated the kitchen layout and appliances. The separate wet bar with beverage refrigerator and ice maker was also a plus. We all slept well on the comfortable mattresses. Everyone enjoyed the salt water pool and theater room. The porch hammock was fun, too! Easy access to the beach, grocery, restaurants, etc."

"By far the best home we've stayed in in the Outer Banks. First time with Twiddy and the home was clean and well equipped. The layout of the home was perfect for our three families with plenty of space for all of the kids to each have their own beds and 3 king master suites for the parents. The theatre room was a huge hit (and we love the updated furniture from the photos) as well as some new flooring in the home. Access to the beach was EASY and convenient. The open floorpan of the upper level was perfect with plenty of seating for the kids at one table and the adults at the other and we loved the wet bar! Can't wait to see what the new owners do to further update the home!"

"This was the first vacation we were able to have with our family since before COVID and it was somewhat disappointing to have bad weather--we were there during a huge storm with wind gusts and high tides that lasted the first 4 days--but the house was incredibly sturdy and comfortable. There was plenty to do with the pool table, theater and game area. Overall a very cozy and clean home."

"The Lady Drake was a great property for our large extended family. It is located in a lovely gated community and is situated adjacent to the beach access walkway which was very convenient for rolling out chairs and umbrellas to the beach. The deck of the house could some work as there are some places with splintered wood. The pool and hot tub were a delight. The house was centrally located in the heart of Corolla, near restaurants and Grocery stores and shops. All house infrastructure systems were in good working order. Twiddy was very responsive in addressing some minor housekeeping issues. We had a wonderful time at the Lady Drake."

"Lovely home that had all you needed from kitchen gadgets to pool toys. Not a far walk from the beach at all. Would have preferred an elevator which was listed when we rented the house months ago. Very close to grocery store and retail shopping."

"Wonderful location right on the beach, with spacious house with outdoor spaces, pool, hot-tub, grill, cinema room, and pool table. Also close to supermarkets and amenities and in a gated environment with minimal traffic and noise. Only downsides are a slightly dated interior, including puzzling wallpapering decisions and a fair bit of wear and tear (including exposed wires under kitchen counter, missing cable in cinema room for sound, etc.) and a fair bit of noise (due to wind, rain, etc.) in master bedroom. Otherwise, a highly pleasant experience."

"Great location and spacious layout. Home could use a refresh and some TLC (e.g, toilet had to be manually flushed from inside the lid in the level 1 MBR, elevator was temperamental). Would have appreciated written instructions for the theater room and TVs, etc. None of this prevented us from enjoying our week, just a few small things that could be improved upon."

"The home's great room area is lovely and our favorite spot. The new furniture and light fixtures give is a fresh look for sure. The den off the main master is very nice as well. We love the couch looking out to the ocean. The kitchen is well stocked. The kitchen is a little squishy with the island in the middle. The outdoor grill was nice. two things we did not like. one -- in the master bathrooms you can't close the door to the bathroom area so someone can take a shower while others are in the bedroom. Two- you don't have a door from the driveway to the basement which is not helpful for handicap folks.....the elevator is a plus for handicaps but you have to walk around the house to get in verses using the front stairs."
