"Wild Horse" is the venue of a lifetime! Custom built on 20 acres of undeveloped oceanfront, this coastal estate is among the largest and most secluded on the Outer Banks and offers guests an ideal setting in which to host a destination wedding, family reunion, or other large gathering. Truly unique, "Wild Horse" incorporates Old Nags Head-style architecture to create both a welcoming place of refuge and a spacious and well-equipped location for entertaining, rain or shine. A 1,000 square foot special event room offers impressive views of the ocean and surrounding scenery and can accommodate more than 100 guests - the perfect alternative in case of inclement weather! The décor includes spa-like colors to accent the Southern bead-board detailing and features artwork from local artists including black and white photos of the area and its wild horses. Together with the comfortable wood-tone furnishings and neutral fabrics, event-color coordination becomes a breeze. Multiple gathering areas abound and offer a variety of seating options. The living space grows even larger when you include the tiered oceanside pool deck, outdoor bar, dance floor and the many porches surrounding the home. Don't want to be in the middle of the crowd? Slip away to one of the top-floor decks. All outdoor areas are furnished with the finest in outdoor furniture including Telescope Casual and Poly-wood. Plus, guests can enjoy many additions completed in 2013 such as upgraded water system, theatre room, new TV's, outside shower and deck expansions!
Other event-friendly features include a separate commercial kitchen with private elevator access for caterers, and approximately 11,000 square feet of decking and more than 13,000 square feet of interior that total more than ½ acre of usable space. Enjoy panoramic views of the sea from the decks, and while lounging in, or celebrating by, the second-level pool. Located immediately adjacent to federal land, guests will treasure the miles of unobstructed views to the south. At "Wild Horse," family and friends can play, celebrate, and stay, in one impressive location amongst the windswept dunes. Approximately 5.9 miles up the beach.

I can't tell you how happy I am with Twiddy and their staff. The wedding team in particular should be praised and informed of what a fantastic job they did to streamline expectations from day one. Our wedding was a dream come true on Sept. 22 2017 at the Wild Horse Coastal Estate. It is with great pleasure our entire family gives immense gratitude to the Twiddy staff for helping ensure we have the best vacation and wedding day possible. Without everyone's detailed efforts, it wouldn't have happened the way it did. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating a memory of a lifetime. We will definitely be back and use Twiddy's services again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The house was awesome. There was enough space to have your quite time, shoot pool, watch a movie in the theatre, dance in the ballroom, play games/cards in kitchen, sit out on deck (too many spiders for me lol), enjoy the beach and hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped and the ice makers were the best!

- Amy 8/20/2017

We had an AWESOME week at the Wild Horse! We had up to 52 people throughout the week at our 2nd Smith Family Reunion. There are many gourmet cooks and professional chefs in the family so the fully equipped kitchen was put to use 24/7! What a week of gourmet meals from a surf n turf nite to chicken curry to Mexican festival. When the dining tables weren't being used for eating there was always a few games of cards, Rummy Cube, or Cribbage! The bar was in the main living space was always serving bloody Mary's, Mojitos, beer on tap or whatever else that was requested. The extensive decking was also used for an outdoor seafood/chicken/sausage boil one evening to a night with the local band Soul One Dancing the night away under a starry night! The Wild Horse was a setting to memories that will last a lifetime!

We were extremely happy with the improvements/repairs made to the house since last year and the condition of the house remains very good. The location is perfect and I cannot imagine staying in any other house in the 4x4 area.

Lovely "Inn" sort of feel. The home is comfortable, spacious, gracious, and well suited for a large gathering. The location absolutely makes this home fabulous! The view cannot be understood until you are onsite. What a peaceful atmosphere it creates. We saw Dolphins, schools of fish, wild horses grazing just outside the front door and again on the beach. Relaxing and secluded made for a great week for all!
