Feeling lucky? You will be when you shift into 4-wheel drive and head for “The Lucky Penny!” Located directly on the oceanfront on the 4x4 beach, this home offers peace and quiet, as it is situated on ten acres. Stunning ocean views and plenty of space make this home the perfect venue for large gatherings of family and friends. A resort within itself, this pet-friendly retreat offers many amenities in a unique coastal setting.
The top level of the home will be where everyone gathers, as the great room is large enough to accommodate your entire group. The wall of windows gives a panoramic view of the ocean and allows the beautiful view of the sea to fill the room. Relax and watch TV in the living area or catch up with family and friends in the sitting area nearby. A fireplace is available for use during chillier months of the year. For those who love to sneak away with a good book, there is a loft just off of the great room that is the perfect place to read. The kitchen is equipped for preparing meals for a crowd. Two refrigerators, two dishwashers, a wine cooler, and plenty of counter space are available so multiple cooks can work simultaneously in the kitchen. Kitchen countertop bar seating is available, as well as two dining areas nearby. Be sure to step outside onto the oceanfront deck with your morning coffee to watch a beautiful Outer Banks sunrise. A half bathroom is included on the top floor. There are three master bedrooms on the third floor, each with a private bathroom. The largest of the master bedrooms includes deck access and a sitting area with a fireplace.
Seven master bedrooms are available on the middle level of the home, each with deck access and a private bathroom. Movie night goes to an epic new level in the theatre room on the middle floor, which has comfortable tiered seating. There’s no need to trek up the stairs for a snack or drink, as there is a wet bar with a refrigerator and microwave in the den on the middle level. The laundry room is also conveniently located on the second floor.
Seven additional master bedrooms can be found on the ground floor of the home, each with a private bathroom. Fun evenings are in store in the rec room, which features a pool table and card table. A wet bar with a refrigerator and microwave are nearby to keep everyone fueled up and ready to play.
The fun continues outside, where you can choose to splash in the private pool or simply lounge in the sunshine. The poolside cabana is available when you’re ready for a break from the sun. From the pool area, there is a private walkway to the beach so you’ll have your toes in the sand in no time. At the day’s end, take time to relax with a restorative soak in the hot tub. Seventeen master bedrooms and multiple common areas with a variety of amenities mean there’s something for everyone at this coastal retreat. “The Lucky Penny” will have your group feeling fortunate to spend time together on the Outer Banks!

"This home is amazing lots of room for a multi family vacation. House is on a dead end street so limited traffic except for people turing around. The elevator is very nice touch to help go from first to the third floor. Had multiple horses daily in the yard. Amazing views. The kitchen is large and spacious for cooking for a large group. Two grills to make grilling for a large group possible. Everything you could need for kitchen appliances. Enjoyed by the whole group, with being not to many neighbors beach is not crowded in the area of the house."

"we loved the house, it was very nice and clean, the house was ready exactly at 4:00, the owner was on top of everything, he answered all my questions, and he sent people to the house to fix anything we needed, there was plenty of rooms for 50 people, and there was games everywhere for everyone and all the ages, the pool and the hot tub were clean, and the maintenance people came in the middle of the week to put chlorine in it, there was a good amount of chairs for the beach, we really loved everything in the house and we definitely would love to be back again!!"

"It is a great house in the perfect location. The owner has 10 acres so excellent place especially on the beach, it is like you are there by your self's. The owner has done a lot of upgrades on the house. We only had one issue, with the internet connection. Twiddy was not helpful. The owner called me directly about the issue and they are in the process of upgrading this so I don't expect it to be a problem going forward. Everything is so organized. Especially the kitchen. Very well organized and plenty of everything you need. Basically 2 of everything and more on 1st and 2nd floor as well. Lots of recent upgrades have made the house even better. The upgrades on plumbing, flooring etc are fantastic. All great improvements. With 17 bedrooms there is plenty of space for large multi-families and plenty of recreational activities in the house as well. The pool is larger than most of the homes we have rented. Grills etc, all in working order, we didn't have any issues with anything. And if the wild horses and wild life is what you are looking for we had plenty every day!"
"We have been renting a home from Twiddy in the 4x4 area for the last 11 years. For the past 5 years we have rented this home (formally known as Sand Break, now Lucky Penny). The property has several great features including an amazing view from the upper floor, excellent privacy especially for the pool, large lot, good access, a kitchen that works well for large groups, as well as the typical amenities you would expect for a house of this size. With the new ownership this year there have been significant improvements to the house. All new decking, two new hot tubs, new grills, additional concrete pad, and several upgrades and repairs inside the home. We are all very pleased with the way the house has been improved. The new owners seem committed to caring for the property. We are already booked for next year and look forward to staying at Lucky Penny for many, many more years. For a large group staying in the 4wd area, we would highly recommend Lucky Penny."
