Calling all Muggles! Are you looking to add some magic to your Outer Banks vacation? You’re invited to “Wizardry by the Sea”, a semi-oceanfront home on the 4x4 beaches with a Harry Potter theme. Located just one lot back from the oceanfront, this whimsical retreat offers enchanting views of the ocean. Your entire family will be spellbound by the amenities and location of this adventurous beach house.
In the Great Hall on the top level of the home, charming ocean views are yours to enjoy throughout your stay. The comfortably furnished living area is the perfect place to watch your favorite Harry Potter movie or to gaze out at every drop of magical water in the sea. During the cooler months of the year, a gas fireplace is available to keep you warm if you misplace your robe. The kitchen is equipped with all that you need to prepare meals, including two ovens, or mix up tasty potions throughout your stay. The nearby dining area offers views of the ocean. When you’re looking for a quiet place to curl up with your favorite Harry Potter book, head to The Owlry, a ship’s watch up a short flight of stairs. There is one master bedroom on the third floor, fit for a Headmaster. The master bedroom features views of the ocean as well as a magnificent private bathroom with a whirlpool tub. Step outside onto the deck with ocean views and say ‘Expecto Patronum’ to be sure the area is clear of Dementors before relaxing with your morning coffee or afternoon Butterbeer. The majestic beasts you see roaming by aren’t Centaurs, they are the Corolla Wild Horses that live in the immediate area. There is also a screened porch to offer shade from the sun, making it the perfect place to enjoy your afternoon Cauldron Cake. A half bathroom completes the third floor of the home.
On the second level, gather in the sitting room with the Sorting Hat to choose which house, or bedroom, your family members belong in during your stay. Robes are hanging nearby, with floating candles above, as someone came before you and declared ‘Wingardium Leviosa’! There are four master bedrooms on the second floor, one for each Hogwarts House: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each master bedroom includes a private bathroom, and three of the master bedrooms offer access to the covered deck.
On the ground floor, let the shenanigans begin in Diagon Alley. The pool table offers the opportunity for some friendly competition, or play a board game at the table nearby. Spend some time playing the arcade game or simply relaxing on the comfortable furniture. Whatever you choose to do, we’re confident you’ll be up to no good! When hunger or thirst strikes, head over to the Leaky Cauldron, the kitchenette nearby. The Room of Requirement, the final master bedroom, can be found on the ground floor and includes a private bathroom.
Outside, enjoy a refreshing swim in the Great Lake, the home’s private pool. The pool area’s bubbling cauldron, the hot tub, is the perfect place to relax and soothe sore muscles after playing Quidditch on the beach. You and your family will be spellbound after an OBX vacation at “Wizardry by the Sea” on the enchanted 4x4 beach!

Situated on the wonderfully unique 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach offers vacationing friends and families the opportunity to enjoy time together on the coast without the distractions of a bustling neighborhood environment. A four-wheel drive vehicle is needed to navigate the beaches where Carova Beach rental homes are located. The northern-most community of the 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach is approximately 8 miles from the beach access ramp and stretches north for about 3 miles to the Virginia border. While there are no roads, restaurants, or shops in Carova Beach, what you will find is a breathtakingly beautiful & vast shoreline, roaming wild horses and a positively ideal vacation environment.
