Get into an “OBX State of Mind” at this large oceanfront retreat in Carova Beach! Located approximately 8 miles up the beach, this home allows you to fully immerse yourself in the OBX beach life for the duration of your stay. Featuring a spacious layout and generous square footage, approximately 8,000 square feet, your group can spread out and relax, including your furry family members since this home is dog friendly. Enjoy reading a book in your own quiet space or gather all together in the bar area for fun times with family and friends. There are plenty of spaces throughout the home, inside and out, that allow you to enjoy gorgeous ocean views and salty breezes.
The great room on the top floor is spacious and features multiple areas. Gather around the TV and watch your favorite movie or show from the comfortable sofas. The loft is a perfect place to curl up with a book or to check in with the office. The newly renovated and fully equipped kitchen is as attractive as it is functional for preparing meals for a crowd, with double appliances and plenty of counter space. Enjoy meals all together, as there is plenty of space in the dining area nearby and kitchen countertop seating. There is also a screened-in porch on the top floor that can be used as additional dining space. There’s plenty of room on the spacious oceanfront sun deck for everyone to enjoy an Outer Banks sunrise with their morning coffee. We realize that you may need to work while on vacation so we have a mesh wifi system capable of supporting multiple streaming devices should you need to check in with the office or video conference while the kids watch their movie.
The home has a mixture of six main bedrooms with ensuites, one bedroom with a semi-private bath, and a unique spacious loft bedroom that the kids will love. This space features four Duo bunks and a full bathroom. There is another common area with TVs for the gamers in the family on the second floor.
The ground floor of the home was designed with entertainment in mind. In the media room, kick back and watch a movie, or play at the pool table or poker table. The kitchenette nearby can be stocked with snacks and cold drinks for breaks in the action. The rec room has everything you need to keep the kids entertained for hours. Choose from the ping pong table, air hockey, foosball, or shuffleboard. Two half bathrooms are included on the first floor for your convenience.
Step outside to the outdoor oasis for some fun in the sun. The private pool is ready for you to make a splash. Lounge around poolside all day long or take a soak in the hot tub. No need to leave the house to go to a bar, as the poolside bar with commercial ice maker has you covered. From the pool area, follow the private walkway to the oceanfront gazebo, which includes plenty of seating. The gazebo offers an opportunity to relax in the shade and watch the Corolla Wild Horses roam the area or dolphins play in the surf. From the gazebo, continue along the walkway to arrive at the beach. You and your group will definitely return home in an “OBX State of Mind” after a stay at this one-of-a-kind beach house!

"Another great week at OBX State of Mind for our family which now totals 17 with a range of ages from 3 to 72. As our grandchildren are past the baby stage, having that whole separate area with the bunks, bedrooms and living area is great for them. Love the addition of the movie seats in the first floor, made the first floor rec room a great place to watch movies. House well stocked and maintained. Plenty of room even when the weather is less than perfect."

"My family had a wonderful time staying at TheState of Mind! What a beautiful spacious home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. (crockpot, Keurig and regular coffee pot, griddle, waffle maker, blender, lots of pots and pans). We would definitely stay here again. It was very clean and welcoming. Everyone had so much fun downstairs playing pool and other games in the evening. We even had a ping pong competition. The bedrooms were roomy and the beds were very comfortable. The young ones and teenagers loved their own area to hang out and sleep. Having enough room for our children and their families, along with my father all together was a very special treat!"

"Been to the home several times. Fits our family very well. All adults get ocean facing rooms and the upstairs bunk room is great for kids. The whole first floor is dedicated to recreation which is great for not so great weather days. Like that the hot tub is now in the pool area. Frees up the second floor deck which is very nice and shady with cool breeze. Like the indoor/outdoor bar area. The blue tooth speaker is a great addition."
