Idyll Time is under new ownership and will be refreshed for the 2026 season! Planned updates include a brand new designer kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, new quartz counters, and all new kitchenware, utensils, cookware, cutlery and supplies, all new fresh interior paint, all new luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout (including bedrooms), new carpet in the stairways and all bathrooms will be renovated to include new vanities with quartz counters, new tile floors, new toilets, and all oceanfront bedrooms will receive new decorative tile showers! Idyll Time will be professionally decorated by a local designer, in true OBX beach décor with new furniture installed throughout the home. Located just before Milepost 21 in the heart of Carova Beach is “Idyll Time,” a serene oceanfront retreat within walking distance to Carova Beach Park and Boat Ramp. Tucked in the dunes on the pristine 4×4 beach, sweeping views of the ocean and coastal landscape are yours to enjoy throughout your stay. Featuring a spacious layout and a selection of amenities, this pet friendly home is ready to host your Outer Banks family vacation. Inside, the great room on the top level is the heart of the home, with many large windows that allow the beautiful ocean view to be your backdrop. The comfortably furnished living area is perfect for gathering to plan your day outside or to curl up and relax after a long day at the beach. Outside on the deck, sip your morning coffee and soak in the sunrise over the ocean while watching the wild horses roam. The large sparkling kitchen has everything you’ll need to operate efficiently and conveniently while preparing big breakfasts, elaborate seafood dinners or just fun beach snacks for the kids. It features stainless steel appliances including two dishwashers, separate beverage fridge located in the island and quartz counters. The large island provides all the food prep space you could ever want, and has 4 comfy stools for feeding the kids or seating your dinner prep helpers and kibitzers. An elevator is provided to assist with unloading luggage and groceries and services all three floors.
Downstairs, the den on the second floor has a large TV and can serve as a second living area. Take family movie night to an epic new level in the 12-person theater room, which features comfortable seating. Step outside onto the wrap-around deck at any time to enjoy the salty breeze.
On the ground floor, the rec room with a pool table and a refrigerator nearby will turn into an evening hangout zone. Grab a drink and play a round of pool or cards as you laugh the evening away. Outside, the private heated pool and kiddie pool will offer refreshing midday dips and supply a constant enjoyable temperature throughout the summer months, while the six person hot tub is perfect for unwinding at sunset. One of the most magical things about staying in this unique location is that you’ll often see the Corolla Wild Horses roaming in the dunes and along the shoreline.
Each of the home’s eight bedrooms includes its own private bathroom, providing both privacy and convenience and the outdoor shower is the perfect way to wash the salt and sand away after a long day at the beach. The master bedroom on the third floor has access to a deck and three of the bedrooms on the second floor have access to a deck. This home’s washer and dryer is located on the first floor, high-speed WiFi and multiple Smart TVs.

Situated on the wonderfully unique 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach offers vacationing friends and families the opportunity to enjoy time together on the coast without the distractions of a bustling neighborhood environment. A four-wheel drive vehicle is needed to navigate the beaches where Carova Beach rental homes are located. The northern-most community of the 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach is approximately 8 miles from the beach access ramp and stretches north for about 3 miles to the Virginia border. While there are no roads, restaurants, or shops in Carova Beach, what you will find is a breathtakingly beautiful & vast shoreline, roaming wild horses and a positively ideal vacation environment.
