Perched high above the dunes, this oceanfront home features panoramic ocean and sunset views. “Dolphin Patch” is located on one of the most expansive areas of the 4x4 beach, so there is plenty of beach to enjoy, even at high tide. Well-appointed bedrooms, multiple family gathering spaces and a long list of amenities ensure that “Dolphin Patch” has something for everyone to make your next vacation special.
The top floor features an open floor plan with the kitchen, living room, and dining room, providing space for everyone to gather and enjoy spectacular ocean views through every window. Deer and the Corolla wild horses visit the property often. Sea birds soar by and dolphins can often be spotted playing in the ocean. Step out onto the deck and relax in the captain's chairs to feel the ocean breeze and see and hear the waves break on the beach.
The well-stocked, spacious kitchen is a cook’s dream. Two full-size refrigerator/freezers and a large pantry in the kitchen allow you to bring everything you need for your stay. The elevator makes unloading luggage and groceries a breeze. The wine and beverage coolers provide additional space to keep your drinks cold. The kitchen’s double oven lets you easily cook for a large group. Double dishwashers and double sinks make fast work of meal-time clean up. The wet bar area just might make mixing up favorite cocktails while watching the sunset a favorite evening ritual. Mornings might include having coffee around the granite table in the covered, screened-in porch.
“Dolphin Patch” has many additional spaces to gather. The den provides a relaxing space and access to the middle floor deck with more ocean views. The deck wraps around to the large hot tub, tucked away under the top floor’s covered porch, so you can soak and soothe even on rainy days. A separate west-facing porch with rocking chairs is a favorite spot to enjoy sunsets.
The lower level rec room features a full-size Brunswick premium slate billiards table. Another wet bar and the third refrigerator round out this space. Pop popcorn, put your feet up and enjoy a favorite movie in the theater room complete with leather reclining theater chairs. Step out and enjoy swimming in the private pool at “Dolphin Patch,” with its spacious concrete deck and plenty of lounge chairs. Two private outdoor showers are just off the pool area. Enjoy the home’s private lighted walkway over the barrier dune to walk directly to and from the beach.
Not that you’ll ever need to leave during your stay, but “Dolphin Patch” is located approximately 9.2 miles up the beach within reach of local shopping and dining. Make treasured Outer Banks vacation memories at “Dolphin Patch!”

Situated on the wonderfully unique 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach offers vacationing friends and families the opportunity to enjoy time together on the coast without the distractions of a bustling neighborhood environment. A four-wheel drive vehicle is needed to navigate the beaches where Carova Beach rental homes are located. The northern-most community of the 4x4 Beaches, Carova Beach is approximately 8 miles from the beach access ramp and stretches north for about 3 miles to the Virginia border. While there are no roads, restaurants, or shops in Carova Beach, what you will find is a breathtakingly beautiful & vast shoreline, roaming wild horses and a positively ideal vacation environment.
