In 1978, Doug Twiddy started shucking oysters in the little town of Duck, North Carolina, with a few of his visiting friends. Over time, and as the bonds between them strengthened, his friends would often talk about what it would take to make their dreams of owning a home on North Carolina's Outer Banks come true. Doug built a company around what he heard over these many conversations. Today, Twiddy and Company partners with more than one thousand homeowners and welcomes hundreds of thousands of guests annually to the Outer Banks.

Today's company is a campus-style collection of more than six professional offices that stretch from Duck to Corolla and a dozen historically preserved and active buildings. Most importantly, Twiddy and Company is home to a group of bright individuals who combine world-class professionalism with an authentically local Outer Banks approach. The teams inside of the company work diligently to ensure guests have the knowledge, support, and connections they need to create beautiful memories that last a lifetime.

While today's company is noticeably different than the one Doug started more than forty years ago around an oyster shucking table, its values and commitment to delivering southern hospitality to every guest and homeowner remain the same.
