Defining the Types of Rooms You Might Find in your Outer Banks Rental

The different types of rooms found in our Outer Banks vacation rentals are often times similar to your own home. However, you may also find some additional rooms laid out specifically for the luxury amenities found in many of our homes such as a theater room, poolside cabana, game room, and more! 



Great Room

A room with living and dining areas that are open to the kitchen.

Game Room or Rec Room

An entertainment room that may include amenities such as a foosball, ping pong or a pool table.

Media Room

A separate room with large-screen TV, multiple speakers and seating for multiple viewers.

Theatre Room

A self-contained room with a door, sloped floor or tiered seating, and a projection or flat-screen TV with approximately 60" or larger screen.

Private Den

A den that can be closed to provide privacy.

Master Bedroom

A bedroom with a private full bathroom.

Semi-Private Bath

A bathroom that has two entries; one from a bedroom and one from a hall or another room.

Shared Bath

A bathroom that is situated between two bedrooms and accessible by both.

Hall Bath

A bathroom that is only accessible from the hallway.

Cabana Bath

A bathroom that has two entries; one from the pool area and one from inside the home.

Half Bath

A bathroom that has no bathtub or shower.

Guest House

A small house or cottage separate from, but adjacent to, a main house, used for lodging guests.
