Cardiff by the Sea was a great vacation rental, and I would come back to this exact house again. The Wild Horses are everywhere and always at the house so you get to see them. The walk to the beach is easy and perfect. The Beach chairs provided were nice, as well as the heated pool (worked great). Hot Tub was nice as well. Having 2 dishwashers was awesome! Hose in the front to wash off the cars was great. Heat and Air Conditioner worked great. Overall EXCEEDED my expectations. If you walk the beach to other houses, they just didn't compare. the grill looked like it had never been used! Brand new feeling!

How long a walk to the beach? We have two elderly people in our party.
Great question, Judy! This home has its own private walkway to the beach, so it would be about a 5 minute walk to the beach, depending on your stride. Additionally, you're more than welcome to drive your 4WD vehicle to the beach, and set up your spot surrounding your vehicle.

Do you have a blu ray player in house?
Hi Jennifer! DVD players are a standard amenity that the owners provide for their guests. You can find a list of all Twiddy standard amenities here, www.twiddy.com/abbreviations-definitions.aspx#stfurneq. Blu Ray players are considered specialty items; sometimes they will be in the home be we do not guarantee them because they can be removed or replaced from season to season.

How long is the drive in the sand? Is the sand soft or packed down? We are wondering if an AWD vehicle would work!
Cindy, the drive to this home would be 8 miles on the sand, and you will encounter both hard and soft, dry sand. We only recommend 4-wheel, not all-wheel vehicles, and please follow this link for info and videos on the 4x4 area: www.twiddy.com/outer-banks-4x4-driving.aspx
