We have been renting homes through Twiddy for 6 years now. This house was by far the best. The 9 rooms were spacious with queen/king beds except for the two in the lower level. The kitchen being equipped with 3 dishwashers, 2 ovens, 2 refrigerators and the icemaker was so convenient. The pool area was the best yet! The bathroom, bar, hot tub and size of the pool were all great bonuses.

Does the water in this home smell of sulfur? Loved 4x4 area but our home last year had water that smelled so foul our kids refused to shower and were sick to their stomachs.
Jennifer, homes with private wells occasionally experience low pressure, salty, distasteful or discolored water. There may be an unpleasant sulfur odor. Private well water may discolor hair and/or clothing. Some guests choose to use bottled water for drinking purposes even though the water is tested regularly for contaminants.

We are going the end of April and we are wondering what the pool temp will be as it looks like the weather will not be too warm. Should we have it heated?
Great question, Emily! The average water temperature in the month of April is about 60 degrees and, unfortunately, the weather is forever changing and unpredictable. If you are worried about the water being too cold, I would recommend heating. Please note pool heaters are delicate amenities. Heated pools are generally able to reach a maximum temperature range of 75 to 80 degrees.Their effectiveness is subject to the climate, weather conditions and ambient air temperature. If you would like to add the heated pool to your reservation please contact us at 800-489-4339 or [email protected]

It says 4 wheel drive only ...Can you use an all wheel drive van?
Thank you for your inquiry, Lyndsay! There are no paved roads on the northern Outer Banks beaches—travel is over loose sand roads and actual sand dunes. All-wheel drive (AWD) vehicles are not recommended for this area due to low ground clearance and traction concerns—our experience shows that AWD vehicles in this area are problematic at best. 4x4 vehicles with off-road ground clearance are recommended with reduced air pressure for beach travel. Please consult your vehicle manual and manufacturer for specific information.
