February’s Friendly Pet of the Month

Can’t stand the thought of leaving your pup at home while you go on an epic vacation? Neither can we. That’s why our favorite destinations are the ones that let us bring our best friends along for the ride! Of course, no pet-friendly vacation is complete without sprawling dog-friendly beaches, fun activities for you and your pup, and a pet-friendly home to snuggle up together at the end of a great day. With all these things and more, the Outer Banks is truly the perfect place to bring your dog. To show you just how wonderful a pet-friendly vacation here can be, we’re highlighting dogs that love the OBX!

February’s Friendly Pet of the Month

Meet Banks, February’s Pet of the Month! If this sweet one-and-a-half-year-old golden retriever isn’t the perfect OBX poster pup, we don’t know who is! Not only is Banks the absolute cutest, but he’s named after everyone’s favorite sandbar. While his pawrents have been visiting the Outer Banks for many years, last summer was this young pup’s first time visiting his namesake. — And it definitely won’t be his last!

Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun

After the long car ride from New Jersey, Banks finally got to experience why the OBX is his parents’ favorite place. The day they arrived, Banks and his family visited the Beer Garden, the little brewery right behind the Twiddy office. He had a great time meeting a few pup friends and hanging out until it was time to check in to their house on the 4×4.

The next morning was spent walking up and down the beaches of Carova. Banks got to splash in the ocean and meet all of the other vacationers. (If you’re wondering, yes, he did try to jump into everyone’s cornhole games and steal the beanbags. — But dogs just wanna have fun too!). Banks particularly enjoyed watching the giant dogs with hooves walk past their front deck. And although they experienced a few days of rain, it didn’t stop this OBX-lovin’ family from walking the beach!

The Cherry On Top

At the beginning of last summer, Banks’ mom and dad got engaged! And there wasn’t a more perfect place to take their engagement photos than on the Outer Banks. So the family (Banks included) set out at sunrise to meet their photographer on the beach in front of their vacation home. And of course, as soon as they got outside, Banks jumped right into the ocean and rolled in the sand. He was soaked and smiling for the rest of their shoot!

We want to congratulate Banks’ pawrents, Sara and Cody, on a beautiful engagement! Thank you for sharing your pup’s adventure with us. We can’t wait to see y’all on the Outer Banks again this summer!
