We rented this house 2 years ago, and in 20+ years of coming to the OBX, it was the first time we've ever liked a house enough to rent it a second time. Unfortunately, in those 2 years, the rental price went up significantly while the house got worse. The great room had been one of the best parts of the house, but when we were there last it was carpeted and had 2 large sofas. Now there is no carpet, so the slightest noise echoes through the entire house, and there is now just a smaller sofa and a love seat. Not nearly enough seating for an 8 BR house. Similarly, the common area on the ground floor lacks a decent seating area. The outdoor speakers by the pool and on the top deck did not work (this was especially disappointing for the pool). There is no half bath on the top floor, which was inconvenient since that's where we all tended to congregate. There was no plastic dishware, which was an issue with the small kids in our group, and also would've been nice to have plastic cups for the pool. We've al
