The Mark Twain is professionally appointed with holiday decor throughout, from November 21 through the second week in January. Six fully-decorated Christmas trees and an array of garnishments are scattered throughout the home. Our decorators are known for their expertise and come from years of decorating experience in Williamsburg, Virginia.
This 18-bedroom oceanfront home provides an attractive venue to gather your family for a holiday they are sure to remember. The décor magically combines grandeur with a feel of the old Outer Banks. The warmth of natural materials abounds in marble, stone and slate, generously-tiled bathrooms, granite kitchen and bar tops and tile and heart pine flooring. A commercial-type Viking kitchen and ample dining space make preparing and enjoying holiday meals a pleasure. Several libraries and other private places provide opportunities for quiet retreat and reflection. The pool table, baby grand piano with player-piano option, printer/copier/fax and PA system are examples of the leisure and convenience you’ll find here. Enjoy sunrises over the ocean and sunsets on the sound from this home’s high elevation and extensive decking. A stroll on the raised walkway leads you to the large pool and pool house, gazebo, a chance to see wild horses and, ultimately, the ocean. The Mark Twain invites you to relax, escape the hardships of everyday life and create cherished holiday memories. Approximately 2.3 miles up the beach.
