Below you will find descriptions of the abbreviations, definitions, home locations and standard furnishings that Twiddy & Company uses in reference to our vacation homes.

A room with living and dining areas that are open to the kitchen.
An entertainment room that may include amenities such as a foosball, ping pong or a pool table.
An entertainment system that includes a TV with surround sound and multiple speakers.
A separate room with large-screen TV, multiple speakers and seating for multiple viewers.
A self-contained room with a door, sloped floor or tiered seating, and a projection or flat-screen TV with approximately 60" or larger screen.
A den that can be closed to provide privacy.
A bathroom that has two entries; one from a bedroom and one from a hall or another room.
A bathroom that is situated between two bedrooms and accessible by both.
A bathroom that is only accessible from the hallway.
A bathroom that has two entries; one from the pool area and one from inside the home.
A bathroom that has no bathtub or shower.
A stand-alone appliance that makes large quantities of ice.
A private pool with the option of being heated, when requested and paid for (if applicable) in advance of arrival; see individual home descriptions for fee and availability dates.
A bathtub with jets.
Located outside and has jets, a heater and a hard shell.
A permanent, shaded structure located near a private pool area usually with an open side facing the pool.
A pool designed for use by children with no or minimal filtration, and is 18 inches or less in depth.
A small house or cottage separate from, but adjacent to, a main house, used for lodging guests.
List specific restrictions regarding the number, size or type of pets in their individual descriptions.
A billiard game played on a small table with several fixed cushioned obstacles that necessitate the use of bank shots.
Allows users of personal and hand-held computers to connect to the internet at high speed without cables.
Allow large gatherings, such as weddings, for an additional fee and security deposit. Guests must call our office to make arrangements for a Special Event reservation.

Twiddy homes that advertise Welcome Program as an amenity provide guests with a Vacation Starter Kit for their arrival.

Although considered oceanfront, 2nd-tier oceanfront lots are shaped like the ivory keys on a piano with the narrow end facing the ocean. Views to the side may be obscured by another home.
One lot from the beach; may or may not have direct beach access, ocean views or a street between the home and the beach.
East of NC 12; distance to the beach varies.
Homes that directly front the sound; may or may not have access to the sound.
West of NC 12; may or may not have direct access to the sound.

The following amenities are standard to all homes unless specifically noted in the home description:
Bed and bath linens are provided for reservations of seven days or more, except in Twiddy Traditional Homes. Linens are provided for each advertised bed, Futon, rollaway and sleep sofa. Beds (except trundles, top bunks, Futons, rollaways and sleep sofas) are made the day of arrival. Each home provides one bath towel, one hand towel and one washcloth per sleeping capacity of advertised beds, one bath mat for each full bathroom, one hand towel per half bath and two kitchen towels. Extra bath towel sets are available for an additional fee. Contact us for more information.
For Twiddy Traditional Homes, bed and bath linens are not provided as a standard amenity. Guests may rent bed and bath linens through Twiddy (a package for the whole home, or individual sets) or bring their own bed and bath linens from home.
All homes are cleaned prior to guest arrival and upon guest departure. For those vacationing longer than one week, mid-stay cleaning and linen services are available (once per week). These services are complimentary, but must be requested in advance. Please contact our office as soon as possible if you would like to make arrangements.
