Veterans Day on the Outer Banks

Honoring Those That Serve & Sacrifice

This Veterans Day, we observe all those that served and sacrificed. To each and every member of our military, past and present, we are grateful for your bravery and recognize the selfless acts you have made and continue to make to protect our freedoms. On behalf of Twiddy & Company, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

The Wall That Heals on the Outer Banks

The Outer Banks is honored to have been chosen as the last stop of the 2023 tour of The Wall That Heals Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica & Mobile Education Center. The traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., honors the more than 3 million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces throughout the Vietnam War and includes the names of over 58,000 people who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Outer Banks residents and visitors are encouraged to show support to veterans by greeting The Wall That Heals as it arrives on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. The memorial’s transportation trailer is scheduled to arrive on the Outer Banks at approximately 2:30 pm, from the west via the Washington Baum Bridge from Manteo into Nags Head.  Many Jeeps and motorcycles will escort the trailer as it arrives on the Outer Banks.  The trailer will continue to its destination at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head (6800 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head). Starting at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14th, a link will be provided by Dare County to track the trailer as it arrives on the Outer Banks.
