Top Three Spas on the Northern Outer Banks

Take a Few Vacation Moments to Yourself

We hope at some point during your Outer Banks vacation you’re able to take a few moments for yourself at one of our favorite Outer Banks Spas. It’s not that you don’t love family time or that the beach isn’t a great place to close your eyes in the sunshine, but let’s be honest – sometimes you just need a little “me time” and that’s not a bad thing. On an Outer Banks vacation, it’s important to include nourishment of the body as well as the mind and we hope you take some time to do both.

For the spa lovers and spa needers out there, we’ve got good news – the Outer Banks has three distinctive spa options in Duck and Corolla that offer a soothing mix of options, treatments, and environments to indulge your senses.

Don’t forget that we can always help with transportation or babysitting services if you need to create a little space to really enjoy your time at any of these three great spa options:

Aqua Spa

AQUA Spa

Aqua Spa in Duck, known as a great local restaurant and home to a vibrant music scene in the summer, has a loyal spa following as well. Located right on the sound in downtown Duck, it’s a convenient spa to visit if you’re staying in Four Seasons or Ocean Dunes, as it is walking distance. If you’re not careful, with their combination of spa treatments, great food, and cool music, you just might call back home and tell everyone else to come on down.

A full-service spa, Aqua offers a variety of spa treatments, from facials to massages to nail care.

After your spa treatment of choice, be sure to enjoy a meal at Aqua Restaurant, which is in the same building as the spa.

Spa at Sanderling

Spa at Sanderling

The Spa at Sanderling in Duck is a noted resort option and is open to the public – their spa environment is peaceful, yet sophisticated with a great retail option for specialized products used during your visit. The Spa isn’t more than 20 minutes away for anyone in Duck or Corolla. From pools to massage, allow plenty of time to get comfortable and emerge more fully you on the other side. The Spa isn’t more than 20 minutes away for anyone in Duck or Corolla.

We suggest arriving an hour before your appointment, giving you time to slip into an Egyptian Cotton Spa robe and enjoy a relaxing Eucalyptus Steam to warm your muscles prior to your journey.

After your refreshing steam, enjoy a cup of Hot Cinnamon Spice Black Tea in their solarium as you take in the beauty of the Currituck Sound as the crisp breeze awakens the soul. Your experienced therapist will invite you for your treatment. Consider the Sanderling Signature Organic Facial featuring Manuka Honey, soothing hibiscus, sea fennel and aloe replenishing gel to soothe and restore your skin from harsh winter weather.

Continue with a detoxing coffee and mint body scrub to invigorate the senses and finally finish with the cooling marine and aloe pedicure. Rest in one of our chaise lounges and finish that great novel as your newly polished toes dry.

Lovie's Salon Spa Wellness

Lovie’s Salon and Spa

Lovie’s Salon and Spa in Scarborough Faire Village in Duck takes a more rustic but no less sophisticated approach to spa care. Owner and operator Alicia Arranz learned her trade in Manhattan and is well known on the Outer Banks for creating beautiful outcomes for her customers, many of whom make appointments months in advance. Located just behind the Twiddy & Company office in Duck, a visit to Lovie’s Spa is time well spent on the Outer Banks.

Don’t forget to do some planning for these options as schedules do fill up. Combine a trip to these spas and some great local seafood and farmers market vegetable options and you’ll be the best version of you in no time.
