Forbes Names Duck NC a Top Family Friendly Beach

 

It’s always a pleasure to see Duck North Carolina mentioned along with words like pristine, families, and sand dunes. Thanks to travel writer Erinne Magee (@erinnemagee) and Forbes magazine for the latest Duck shout out!

We agree – there are a ton of great vacation destinations out there but Duck has a special place in so many hearts because of its absolutely unique combination of what it is and what it isn’t. We’ve got beautiful beaches, some of the best water sports on the Planet, a great mix of shopping and dining, excellent family vacation home options, a four-star resort, and a generally easy way of moving around whether in your car, on foot, or on a bike.

We have the most dog-friendly pet regulations of any Outer Banks town. Dogs are allowed on Duck beaches year-round, and many events in Duck Village, as well as Duck Town Park, welcome dogs. Duck is also famous for having something fun for the grandparents – golf and fantastic dining are close by – and something fun for the littles in the form of walkways, pedestrian-friendly shopping, and more pizza-and-ice-cream spots than you can visit in one week (more than half of our visitors last year were coming back for at least a second time).

After a long day by the pool or frolicking in the surf, we’d add that the Duck boardwalk on the soundfront is the place to be for sunsets and those flip-flopping family strolls for ice cream or a glass of wine over the water.

Don’t forget Duck is also known for some really cool events, from the Duck and Wine Festival to the Duck Jazz Festival and the ever-popular Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
