Get ready for a delightful, family-friendly experience at Corolla Christmas Village, a self-guided and free-admission event that’s perfect for everyone! Immerse yourself in the enchantment of Christmas, featuring something for all ages. Each weekend during the event, relish the diverse offerings from food trucks, delightful beverages, and the chance to explore unique shopping opportunities from a variety of Historic Corolla Village merchants. This includes The Kind Cup coffee shop, The Event BoutiqueCorolla Wild Horse Fund, Island Bookstore, and Spry Creek. Restrooms will be readily available at the Corolla Chapel. To make the festivities extra special, we have arranged special events, including live music and storytime with Santa, on select evenings throughout the event. Don’t miss the all-new ice skating rink for an added layer of holiday magic. Take a look below for a list of each weekend’s unique festivities! We will be updating this section throughout the month of November, so be sure to check back before your visit to unwrap all the surprises!

Friday, November 24th:

During the day, the 8th Annual Christmas Craft Village will be in full swing on the Whalehead grounds, showcasing handcrafted treasures from local artists and vendors.

Kick off the holiday season with a delightful day at Historic Corolla Village. Don’t miss the second-annual Kind Cup Black Friday Artist Market, where artisans will illuminate the walkways with their unique creations. Plus, you can cozy up to a holiday yule log behind The Kind Cup, open 8am to 8pm on Black Friday. This year, they will be offering a kids hot chocolate bar on their front porch.

Saturday, November 25th:

From 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, meet Riptide, a previously wild Banker horse outside of the Corolla Wild Horse Fund Museum in Corolla Village (1130-E Corolla Village Road, Corolla, NC 27927). Riptide is a four-year-old stallion who was removed from the wild as a colt due to a serious infection requiring life-saving treatment. Get up close with Riptide as the Director of Herd Management, Meg Puckett, talks about the wild horses of Corolla and the Corolla Wild Horse Fund’s work to protect them. The museum and gift shop will be open as well.

The schoolhouse will be open for tours all of the days, with crafts and swag available for sale.

Saturday, December 16th: 

Santa and his helper, Sprinkles the Elf, will be at the Island Bookstore from 7-8 p.m.

Local author Jan Dawson signing her book Storm Season from 12-3 p.m. at the Island Bookstore.

Local band Saunders, Kelley & The Other Guy performing from 4-7 p.m. at the Island Bookstore.

The Tillett Sisters Trio will be performing and singing tunes in the classic 1940’s Holiday style from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Corolla Village Inn (1149 Persimmon St, Corolla, NC 27927)

Ice Skating in Historic Corolla Park

Waiver: An adult must fill out and sign the waiver prior to entering the rink. It is recommended that you print, fill out and sign the waiver prior to coming to the Ice-Skating Rink. Forms will be available at the Ice-Skating Rink. Without a completed waiver you are not allowed to put on skates or enter the ice-skating rink. Click here to download, review and sign the waiver.

Whalehead’s Candlelight Christmas is also happening on select Friday and Saturday nights in November and December. Step back in time with a candlelight Christmas tour of the Whalehead mansion. The home will feature 1920’s holiday decor and customs, including a live piano performance. Tours are limited and reservations are required.
