Corolla Christmas Village: Lights, Floral Delights, and Holiday Sights

The inaugural Corolla Christmas Village brings lights, floral delights, and holiday sights. Historic Corolla Village is transformed into a wonderland that delivers the holiday season spirit. Take a stroll through the sparkling village, where Christmas joy fills the crisp evening air. Each weekend features food trucks, delectable beverages at The Kind Cup coffee shop, and unique shopping opportunities at various Corolla Village merchants. Perfect for the entire family, there is no admission fee for the event.

This self-guided event is perfect for the entire family and there is no entry fee. Restrooms will be available at the Corolla Chapel. Special events, such as live music and storytime with Santa, are planned for various evenings throughout the event. Participating merchants include Corolla Village Market, Corolla Wild Horse Fund, Island Bookstore, Currituck Beach Lighthouse Museum Shop, and Spry Creek. Additional information will be added as the event dates get closer. Scan the signs throughout Corolla Village for more information on each of the historic buildings.

Whalehead’s Candlelight Christmas is also happening on select Friday and Saturday nights in November and December. Step back in time with a candlelight Christmas tour of the Whalehead mansion. The home will feature 1920’s holiday decor and customs, including a live piano performance. Tours are limited and reservations are required. November 26th & 27th

On Friday, November 26th, start your holiday season with a festive day in Historic Corolla Village. The 6th Annual Christmas Craft Village is taking place on the grounds of Whalehead in Historic Corolla Park, with handmade treasures from local artists and vendors. Crumbl Cookies will be present on Friday, November 26th. On November 27th, Dank Frank’s and Mr. Joe’s Fun Food will be the food trucks on-site to satisfy your appetite. Baked goods will be sold outside of Corolla Schoolhouse.

December 3rd & 4th

On December 3rd and 4th, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm each evening, enjoy sacred holiday classics at Corolla Chapel from local pianist, Miles C. Daniels. This is an informal session, so stop in and listen at your leisure. Food trucks for Friday, December 3rd, will be Fork’et Me Not and OBX Kettle Corn. On Saturday, December 4th, OBX Kettle Corn and Dank Frank’s will be present.

December 17th & 18th

On Friday, December 17th, Santa Claus and Sprinkles the elf will be at Island Bookstore from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm hosting storytime. Horse and carriage rides will be available on Friday, December 17th, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm for a fee ($20 per couple and $5 per person thereafter, cash preferred). Gail Kunkel will be playing piano at Corolla Chapel from 7:00 pm until 7:30 pm both evenings. Her classical-style playing can be heard inside as well as outside in the area around Corolla Chapel. The food trucks present will be Fork’et Me Not and OBX Kettle Corn on Friday, December 17th, and  Fork’et Me Not on Saturday, December 18th. Baked goods will be for sale outside of Corolla Schoolhouse.

December 24th

Corolla Christmas Village will be shining bright on Christmas Eve until midnight. Take a stroll through the village and enjoy the lights on the final evening of the year that they will be lit.

Christmas Eve Service will be held at Corolla Chapel at 7:00 pm. Outdoor seating is available. The service will also be streamed on Corolla Chapel’s Facebook page. Corolla Chapel is an Interdenominational Christian Fellowship.
