Location, location, location. The ocean and the ocean. We want a location that lets us become part of something.

There are great surfing spots on the Outer Banks. Actually, there are numerous surf spots down south that would be considered much better than the 4×4 beach, located in the most northern part of the Outer Banks. The waves are typically bigger and more performance oriented. I agree with that notion, but I also know that there are days where I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Ice cream shops are sprinkled all along the OBX coast, and each shop brings something different to the table. Whether you want to indulge in homemade soft serve or you prefer your cone to be topped with hand-scooped ice cream, you are close to an ice cream shop anywhere you stay on the Outer Banks.

Each year, the Outer Banks hosts a variety of surfing competitions in the late summer timeframe. Many surfers travel from afar, and many more are locals, privileged to be surfing in their own backyard.

For many communities, the road back to normalcy will be long and difficult and they will need the hands of those more fortunate pulling them up. Let’s help be those hands together.

Getting to the Outer Banks right now is a bit like boarding an airplane. We do it by zones based on priority. First, second, and third responders, including those residents in the service and property management industry need to get back first so we can prepare for guests to arrive safely.

There can be no expectation of service, safety, access, or a good experience on the Outer Banks during this time of crisis.
