Twiddy Weddings
Fine PrintWhen can I book for 2011?
Current-year guests are given the first opportunity during their stay to request the same home for the comparable dates reserved in 2010 (some restrictions apply). The same home/comparable dates will be held for current-year guests until 12 PM on the Monday following their departure. Current-year guests interested in booking a different home for the comparable dates will have from 12 PM to 5 PM that Monday to place an Advanced Property Hold on that home. At 9 AM on the Tuesday following guest departure, homes are offered on a first come/first served basis. A non-refundable fee (currently $50, subject to change), which is not applicable toward the rent, holds the home until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, a full deposit is required to secure the reservation. Advance Holds are tentative and are contingent upon two factors: the home must be in our 2011 program and the dates must be made available by the homeowner. If there is a conflict with either of these two requirements, the Advance Hold will be void and your money will be refunded. The Advance Hold does not lock in current-year rates. You do have the option to decline this rental after the owners have set their 2011 rental rates. Please note that Special Event homes’ Special Event fees may vary and are subject to change from year to year. Can I view the home before I book it?
We recommend that you come to the area and tour the homes that interests you. We schedule visits one week in advance by appointment only on the turnover days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). You may view up to 3 homes maximum. Please email us at weddings&events@twiddy.com or call us at 1-800-489-4339 at least one week in advance, if you would like to schedule a showing. Are tents allowed?
Community regulations prohibit the use of tents at most of our special event homes. If you would like to use a tent, please call our office at 1-800-489-4339 or email us at weddings&events@twiddy.com to ensure that the home you are planning to rent allows tents. What does the event fee cover?
The event fee covers additional costs associated with hosting larger groups. Fees are set by each individual home owner and are non-negotiable and non-refundable, this is an additional rental fee of $1000 minimum, unless advertised more (this may go up in 2011). The event fee also covers a Special Event Liability Insurance Policy. For more information on the policy, please visit http://www.wedsafe.com/event-liability-insurance.html.
It does not cover: Moving furniture back to its original place, excessive trash left at the home, excessive carpet cleaning, Damages to property, inside or outside. How many guests can your homes accommodate?
We do not advertise occupancy for our homes. Our brides/grooms usually have anywhere from 1-100 guests in our homes. We do not recommend renting one of our homes if you plan on having more than 100 guests. Can I change my check in day?
Check in days: If a home has a Saturday check in, then you have to rent it from Saturday to Saturday anytime from May-September. There may be flexibility to change the check in day to a Sunday, in the off season (March, April, October, November). Please call for more details.Pool Availability:
Private pool availability varies for each of our homes but generally availability is from early May through late October. Availability dates and charges vary for heated private pools. Please see individual property information for private pool and/or heated pool availability and details. Please contact our office prior to your arrival to make arrangements for this amenity. An additional fee of $50 will be charged when this service is ordered at check-in or during your stay. Occasionally, some of the pools in Dare and Currituck counties experience a very mild ground current. Generally this is not caused by a pool defect or the household electrical system, but appears as a result of the earth’s own natural electrical current. Certain properties may be affected and the current tends to be intermittent in nature. Please be advised, however, that this may affect the operation of pacemakers and other similar devices. Outdoor community pools are generally open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and are provided only for guests and homeowners of that subdivision.CHECK-IN TIME AT THE EVENT HOME
If the home is clean and ready before 4 p.m. we will give out the keys. However, no early check-ins are available for event homes.Departing the Event Home
Guests departing the home should leave it tidy and secure to avoid a security hold charge. Check-out time is 10 a.m. No exceptions. What is the security deposit?
There is a security deposit for all special event reservations. The security deposit amount is set by each home owner, and it varies for each home. You may place a credit card number on file for this deposit.Pets at the home
Please read the property description of the home you are considering. Pets are not welcome at non-pet homes. Bringing a pet to a home that does not allow them is a violation of the lease and will result in the termination of your tenancy. This includes any visiting pets as well.PRE-RESERVING MULTIPLE HOMES FOR THE SAME WEEK AND EVENT
Due to the popularity of our special event homes we discourage guests from keeping more than one special event home reserved. Additional homes for other participants of the event should be chosen from our vast inventory of beautiful rental homes.Parking
Parking on streets is not allowed in any area. Several local companies offer transportation services.SERVING ALCOHOL DURING THE EVENT
No cash bars are allowed in the homes. All alcohol is to be consumed on the property not in the street or on the beach. Of course, no under age drinking is allowed.Noise Ordinance
Both Dare and Currituck counties employ a noise ordinance whereby anything that disturbs the public violates the ordinance. The sheriff uses discretion when making the decision to go to a home, and suggests 10:30 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. as a good time to quiet down. Permits are available at both sheriff’s departments.Covenants and Restrictions
There are several communities that have limitations on the activities and use of their neighborhoods. There are restrictions on parking and the construction or placement of tents, arbors or gazebos. Please ask us about the particular development you are interested in.ell.Do you recommend any vendors?
