The number of parking spaces available is listed in the web description of most homes. There is no municipal parking available or street parking allowed in most areas and towing is enforced. There is very limited space available for guests to park two-wheel drive vehicles while vacationing in the 4x4 area. Please plan accordingly. Daily parking may be available in Corolla for a fee.
Campers: Campers, RVs and mobile units are not allowed in any community and may not be parked at the home for additional sleeping space.
Personal Motorized Watercraft: Southern Shores, Duck and Corolla (including 4x4 beaches) do not allow personal motorized watercraft on the ocean.
ATVs: ATVs are not permitted. Back to Top
Please respect the wishes of homeowners and incoming guests and do not smoke in homes specifying “No Smoking.” Back to Top
Pets are only permitted in homes that list “Pets Allowed” in the description (NO EXCEPTIONS). Some pet-friendly homes have specific restrictions regarding the number, size or type of pet noted in the individual description. A violation of the pet policy is cause for termination of tenancy. Unless otherwise advertised, a maximum of two pets is allowed. Southern Shores beaches do not allow pets from May 15 to September 15. All beaches have leash laws. Pets are not permitted in pools. Mail is not delivered to vacation homes. Letters, packages and faxes may be sent to our office for pick up. Please have the sender include the leaseholder's name, your name and vacation home number so we may attempt to notify you of arrivals. The vacation home telephone number is included on your payment confirmation letter and balance due reminder. All homes have a long distance block unless otherwise advertised. Options for placing long distance calls include cell phones, calling cards, credit cards, pre-paid phone cards and collect calls. Any unauthorized long distance calls charged to the vacation home telephone will be billed to the leaseholder. Back to Top
Twiddy is not responsible for any items left in a vacation home. We will attempt to locate items reported as left behind and return them for a fee of $25.00. Items not claimed within 10 days will be donated to a local charity. Back to Top
Homes with private wells are listed accordingly in their description. These homes occasionally experience low pressure, salty, distasteful or discolored water. There may also be an unpleasant sulfur odor. Private well water may discolor hair and/or clothing. Some guests choose to use bottled water for drinking purposes even though the water is tested regularly for contaminants. All homes in the 4x4 area have private wells and may have more prevalent water problems, even in homes with water filtration systems. Back to Top
