Hurley, our West Highland Terrier, is an adventure seeker to the core. That is why she loves the Outer Banks. Our family was walking on a road to the beach, when she found this abandoned basket and climbed in to discover its contents. Photo taken in September 2010 on Swan Beach.

Lincoln, our beloved 13 year old English Springer Spaniel, on our Twiddy house deck. Is he remembering times past when he could run the beach and play hard in the surf? Or does he dream about a night walk and fresh sushi (ghost crabs)? I'll never forget this look on his face...

After a week on the ocean including a morning viewing horses on the beach I took this photo in Duck. It wasn't until weeks after I returned home that I noticed the shape of an animal in the water on the lower right side of the photograph. What a treat it is to see a beautiful sunset and a clear image of a horses head to remember our trip to the Outer Banks!
