2011 Reservations

Here's how it works...

Current-year guests are given the first opportunity to request the same home/timeframe for 2011. The same home/timeframe will be held for 2010 guests until 12:00 pm on the Monday following their departure. Current-year guests interested in booking a different home for the comparable 2011 timeframe will have from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the Monday following the 2010 guest's departure to request an Advance Property Hold.

At 9:00 am on the Tuesday following the 2010 guest departure, homes are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Back to Top

The cost...

The fee for an Advance Property Hold is currently $50.00. This fee is non-refundable and is not applied to the rental fee, but holds the home off the market until a lease is sent in the Fall. At that time, a full deposit is required to secure the reservation. Back to Top

The bottom line...

Advance Property Holds are not reservations, but tentative holds that are contingent upon two factors: the home must be in Twiddy's 2011 rental program, and the dates must be made available by the homeowner. If there is a conflict with either of these two requirements, the Advance Hold will be void and your money will be refunded. The Advance Hold does not lock in current-year rates. Guests have the option of declining the rental after the homeowners have set their 2011 rental rates. The 2011 rental fee will be reflected on the lease agreement sent in the Fall. Back to Top

How do we sign up?

As you can see, time is of the essence when requesting Advance Property Holds. For 2010 guests interested in the same home/timeframe for 2011, it is best to take care of the paperwork and payment while you are still on the Outer Banks. If this is not convenient or applicable to their situation, guests should call our office as soon as possible - bearing in mind the designated timeframe in which the home and/or timeframe is being held for them. For those not renting with Twiddy in 2010, we strongly recommend calling first thing on the Tuesday morning following the week in which they're interested for 2011. Availability is often limited due to Advance Holds already placed by departing 2010 guests, so it is best to call us first thing that morning with several vacation home options in mind.

Some examples...

2010 Guests requesting the same home/timeframe in 2011...
The home/timeframe guests book in 2010 is held for them until 12:00 pm on the Monday following their departure. To make arrangements, guests may turn in their completed Advance Property Hold Form and $50.00 payment to our office during their stay or at check-out. They may also call our office by 12:00 pm on the Monday following their departure to request an Advance Property Hold. The home is then held off the market and Twiddy would mail an Advance Property Hold form to the guest, which they would then sign and return with a check for $50.00 due within 10 days from date of booking. Upon receipt of the form/payment, the home is held off the market for that guest until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, a full deposit is required to secure the reservation.

Returning Guests requesting a different home for the same timeframe in 2011...
Guests interested in a different home for the comparable 2011 timeframe should call our office on the Monday following their departure between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm to request an Advance Property Hold. Once it is verified that the home/timeframe is available, the home is held off the market and Twiddy would then mail an Advance Property Hold form to the guest, which they would then sign and return with a check for $50.00 due within 10 days from date of booking. Upon receipt of the form/payment, the home is held off the market for that guest until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, a full deposit is required to secure the reservation.

Guests who did not previously rent with Twiddy, but would like to make 2011 arrangements...
Guests not previously renting with Twiddy may call our office to make 2011 arrangements at 9:00 am on the Tuesday following the 2010 guest's departure. For example, guests interested in placing an Advance Property Hold on the week of August 6-13, 2011 should call our office at 9:00 am on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Once it is verified that the home/timeframe is available, the home is held off the market and Twiddy would then mail an Advance Property Hold form to the guest, which they would then sign and return with a check for $50.00 due within 10 days from date of booking. Upon receipt of the form/payment, the home is held off the market for that guest until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, a full deposit is required to secure the reservation. Back to Top
