Twiddy & Company is pleased to offer guests the option of placing an Advance Property Hold on a vacation home for 2013.

Here's how it works...

Current-year guests are given the first opportunity to request the same home and timeframe for 2013. The same home and timeframe will be held for 2012 guests until 12:00 pm on the Monday following their departure. Current-year guests interested in booking a different home for the comparable 2013 timeframe will have from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the Monday following the 2012 guest's departure to request an Advance Property Hold.

At 9:00 am on the Tuesday following the 2012 guest departure, homes are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Back to Top

The cost...

The fee for an Advance Property Hold is currently $50.00. This fee is non-refundable and is not applied to the rental fee, but holds the home off the market until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, the initial payment is required to secure the reservation. Back to Top

The bottom line...

Advance Property Holds are not reservations, but tentative holds that are contingent upon two factors: 1) the home must be in Twiddy's 2013 rental program, and 2) the dates must be made available by the homeowner. If there is a conflict with either of these two requirements, the Advance Hold will be void and your money will be refunded. The Advance Hold does not lock in current-year rates. Guests have the option of declining the Advance Property Hold with no refund after the homeowners have set their 2013 rental rates, which will be reflected on the lease agreement sent in the fall. The $50.00 Advance Property Hold Fee will also be reflected in the lease agreement, but it is not applied to the rental fee. Back to Top

How do we sign up?

Time is of the essence when requesting Advance Property Holds! For 2012 guests interested in the same home and timeframe for 2013, it is best to take care of the paperwork and payment while you are still on the Outer Banks. If this is not convenient or applicable, guests should call our office as soon as possible - bearing in mind the designated timeframe that the home is being held. For those not renting with Twiddy in 2012, we strongly recommend calling at 9:00 am on the Tuesday morning following the week in which they're interested for 2013. Availability is often limited due to the Advance Property Holds already placed by departing 2012 guests, so it is best to call us first thing that morning with several vacation home choices in mind.

Some examples...

2012 Guests requesting the same home and timeframe in 2013...
The home andtimeframe guests book in 2012 is held for them until 12:00 pm on the Monday following their departure. To make arrangements, guests may turn in their completed Advance Property Hold Form and $50.00 payment to our office during their stay or at check-out. They may also call our office by 12:00 pm on the Monday following their departure to request an Advance Property Hold. The home is then held off the market and Twiddy would mail an Advance Property Hold form to the guest, which they would then sign and return with a check for $50.00 due within 10 days from date of booking. Upon receipt of the form and payment, the home is held off the market for that guest until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, the initial payment is required to secure the reservation.

Returning Guests requesting a different home for the same timeframe in 2013...
Guests interested in a different home for the comparable 2013 timeframe should call our office on the Monday following their departure between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm to request an Advance Property Hold. Once it is verified that the home and timeframe are available, the home is held off the market and Twiddy will mail an Advance Property Hold form to the guest, which they sign and return with a check for $50.00 within 10 days from the date of booking. Upon receipt of the form and payment, the home is held off the market for that guest until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, the initial payment is required to secure the reservation.

Guests who did not previously rent with Twiddy, but would like to make 2013 arrangements...
Guests not previously renting with Twiddy may call our office to make 2013 arrangements at 9:00 am on the Tuesday following the 2012 guest's departure. For example, guests interested in placing an Advance Property Hold on the week of June 8-15, 2013 should call our office at 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Once it is verified that the home and timeframe are available, the home is held off the market and Twiddy will mail an Advance Property Hold form to the guest, which they sign and return with a check for $50.00 within 10 days from the date of booking. Upon receipt of the form and payment, the home is held off the market for that guest until a lease is sent in the fall. At that time, the initial payment is required to secure the reservation.
